Marseille the better side, missed a sitter after three minutes, Atletico score from a defensive lapse, Payet off in tears with a hamstring pull.

Can't see Marseille getting back into this.

I actually can't believe Germain missed that chance early on. And Zambo Anguissa... He's just not good enough.

Is it still the case that you can’t advertise alcohol in European tournaments? Noticed Amstel was being advertised round the pitch but it was the logo without the actual name on it. Bit strange.

I assume that, assuming Marseille, have earned a CL place via the French league (have they?) then whoever wins tonight, that league will get 1 more CL place allocated to it?

No, OM need to finish in the top three to finish in the champions league, and theyre 4th. They need to get a better result than Lyon in the final weekend of games this weekend. It looks like they're not going to qualify for the champions league tonight anyway...

Was that not offside? - Not Griezmann but his sidekick?

It's only in France (where the final is being played) that you can't advertise alcohol...which causes UEFA a bit of a problem with Amstel.

That’s what I thought. Surely him ushering the ball into the net made him active?

:agree: AM totally in control and look like they know what they're doing. Whereas Marseilles look like rabbits caught in the headlights. Must be one of there worst displays in a Euro final - dreadful. How did they manage to get to the final ?

good refereeing and linesmansingMaybe I'm not up to date on the rules, but at one point you could see the keeper hesitating between narrowing the angle on Griezmann and covering the other guy who was in an offside position. Does that not count any more?

If they had won the EL (which they didn't) and finished outside the top three (which they may or may not), then France would have had an extra place in the CL. If they did finish in the top three they would not get an extra place.

Last season England got a fifth CL place as United won the EL and finished fifth in the PL. This season assuming Real Madrid with the CL and with Atletico winning the EL, Spain will not get an extra place for next season as both Madrid teams have qualified by League position..

Payet out of the world cup, just announced.
