They were playing Borussia whose fans had a massive banner counting down their opponents relegation.

Celtc proclaim links to Hamburg's local rivals St Pauli so The Rangers and Hamburg have a similar link.

The image was from a European game against Celtc, where the Hamburg Fans decided to wind up the Celtc Supporters... and it seemed to work.

Serves them right for beating us in the Fairs Cup when I was a laddie lost 0-1 away but won 2-1 at Easter Road.

The had the great Uwe Seller playing for them but we missed a penalty, had a few goals disallowed and lost on toss of coin or possibly the new away goal rule.

I wasn't allowed to go (school night) so had to wait until the following year to see my first European night and we beat Malmo 6-0.

Watched the highlights on TV though.

Yes, lost on away goals rule after Joe Davis missed a penalty.
Pretty sure we lost to Leeds the following year after o o at their place and 1 1 at home.

I was there . Robbed! Joe McBride scored two perfectly good goals ruled out for offside because their goalie was wearing a green top (before refs were sponsored by specsavers). Joe Davis missed a penalty. Uwe Seeler scored. HIBS went out on away goals.I am sure Alex Scott got sent off for retaliation but that might have been against Lokomotive?? Liked Humburgs socks. Might need Ancient Hibby to bail me out here!!

was at their game a couple of weeks back v Frieburg . massive stadium, but the stewards made us walk round the whole distance of the middle concourse to reach out seats. my mate had his Hibs top on which maybe didnae help. we had real problems trying to get in, as we were pointed this way,that gate then back 3 times! not a friendly lot and glad they are doon. St Pauli fans were so much friendlier as we drank in their boozers.
