Pretty surprised none of the top league games are on TV. Thought they normally covered relegation games with Ross county and Partick still able to go down today. Pretty poor imo.

They all kick off at 3pm so it's illegal for them to be broadcast on British TV.

Just seen Lincoln v Exeter is on at 3pm on Sky Sports.

I have no idea how they're managing that as I'm not aware of the law being changed.

Ritchie Towell playing just now in midfield for Rotherham at Scunny. :greengrin got round the swear filter there.

1-1 40 mins gone, and he looks alright in midfield for them.

He's done really well since leaving us.

I actually didn't think he was a bad player for us tbh. Wrong player in the wrong team more than anything.

:agree:

Its very difficult to judge just how good the standard is in this game, as it is a bit of blood and thunder, but he has had some good touches, and is quite comfortable on the ball.

Most seasons the last games are at lunchtime on the Saturday. Very odd.

2nd half seemed to pass Towell by, and he's been subbed after 71 minutes, although they are now winning 2-1.

I’m sure it only relates to top league games. Or clashing with top league games. Or something along those lines.

Well done the Jags!
First match I saw in Scotland was Hibs v them (Chic red carded!) so I've always had a bit of a soft spot for them.

Glad RC are down from a purely selfish point of view. One less long away game journey next season.

cove manager saying referee was biased towards cowdenbeath, they feel 'cheated' by the system, and his players were assaulted by cowdenbeath players coming off the bench....

Just as well you don’t live in England if you think that’s a long journey. :greengrin

I was at the Cove game, and have not been at a game like that for years. First thing to say was there was very little quality on show, however any quality did come from Cove, esp first half. They gave away a ridiculously soft second goal direct from a free kick out wide, which made it 2-2.

It all kicked off after that. Cowdenbeath played yet another long ball over the top, the cove goalie came out about 20 yards to kick it clear, but he hit straight to a Cowdenbeath player. While the Cove goalie tried to run back to goal, he was tripped by the Cowdenbeath no.9 (who maybe the largest player to grace a Scottish pitch - ??? Sheerin). The referee and linesman totally missed this and the Cowdenbeath player did finish it well.

After this total jambo style, the ridiculous time wasting started, they had three players down at one point, this happened time after time. The cove players stated to get frustrated. The first sending off was fair enough, then in injury time there was a massive melee almost in the Cowdenbeath dug out, which resulted in the next two getting red cards as well as both managers and I think someone else. All four officials were on the pitch trying to breaking it up, there were players getting pushed into the tyres! The officials lost control and were escorted off by a rather hefty looking steward at the end.

The conduct of the Cowdenbeath players towards the cove fans was poor, they seemed to prefer to run toward them and scream at them instead of celebrate with their own fans.

All in all a pretty entertaining day, as someone born and bred in Aberdeen, but whose grandfather was born in Cowdenbeath I had split loyalties. Given the events of the day I would be surprised if we have heard the last of it.

ta for the match report SH :aok:

"When you get officials swearing at players and swearing at me, then you know the game's gone all wrong. It was a soft penalty, a soft free-kick for the second goal, but the third one topped it all off.

the officials might get a ban as well :greengrin

I used to work with John, the Cove manager and he's a really good bloke. He's lost it there after the game though and whether it's rightfully or wrongly it's never good to see a manager putting things in that manner. Some things are better behind closed doors.

He didn't enjoy his memories of going to Easter Road though - he was Montrose manager when we beat them 9-0 :greengrin
