Just about to start on BT. Livvi 3-2 up from the 1st leg. If it’s as good as the 1st game, for commitment, we’re in for a treat
Looks to be a decent crowd as well, although fans seem to be waking round the park, to get to their seats?

Was said to be coming to us (Hearts) back in December but it has been quiet - he's been out injured a long time and we may have a pre-contract, or not.

What is it about commentators and Billy King? 99% of players get only their surname during commentary but they seem incapable of just calling him King and always refer to him with his full name?

Just back from the game - great to see Almondvale almost full again.

Livingston rode their luck a bit tonight - United just failed to find a clinical finishing touch. Having said that, Livi hit the post, the bar and should have had a stonewall penalty!

They gave the official attendance as under 5000 in the stadium. I was convinced it was going to be closer to 7k - it felt packed!

Not sure who Csaba's assistant currently is (or maybe one of the coaches), but he was aggressively gesticulating at the Livingston fans when they equalised - snuck away at full time with his tail between his legs.

It would be a great story for Livingston to get back to the Premiership (given that the changed days at Almondvale mean they've done it the right way this time), but I do fear they'd drop straight back down again. Beating either Partick or County over 2 legs is going to be a tough ask though.

Well done Livi. What a dreadful season it’s been for United but it’s odd the similarities between them and us this time a couple of years ago, losing out to the underdogs in the play offs, difference is we got the cup win and have pushed on vastly since then.

I would agree with the official announcement, there's no way it looked much fuller than that from the TV pictures.

I would agree with your summary of the game, based on what I saw which was most of the 2nd half. Scott McDonald should have also been sent off.

Dundee Utd's assistant is Laurie Ellis.

Is Ryan Hardie out for the rest of the season mate ? I watched a few Livi games and I have to say he has really improved no end this year under Hopkin........so much so I'd love to see him at Hibs. A real gem that could make it with the right coaching and team.

That figure is defo wrong, because of the queues they ended up having some guys in suits standing at the exits and folk chucking £20 into a plastic carrier bag. Fairly sure all those folk weren’t being counted.

And despite the main stand being at capacity, they were still piling folk in and walking them round the pitch into the stand behind the goals, it was a shambles. Crowd was probably about 7500

Referee Don Robertson gave one of the worst refereeing performances I have ever see. Mohsni punched the ball 5 yards away from him when he was looking right at it and never gave the penalty. Booked Utd's Ralston for a wild tackle in the first half, committed the same thing just into the 2nd - nothing done. It turned into a kicking match because of Robertson's ineptitude. Hopeless, get him off the list.

Employing Laszlo was an astonishing decision and one that was only bound to fail. I certainly don't see Utd coming up via automatic promotion next season either, they're in dire straits. It'll be such a competitive league next season with so many sides with a chance to win it. The wage bill alone will be damaging (for Utd). It's looking like Armstrong is happy at Celtic too, so there won't be any money coming in from his potential sale. Gloomy times at Tannadice.

I do hope they can come up however, the game needs top fixtures and crowds and a league with Celtic v The Rangers, Hibs v Hearts, Dundee v Utd, Utd v Dons is always going to attract fans and money.

You have to hand it to Livi and Hopkin though, what a season - and to win the play off fixtures without their main striker and goalscorer is no mean feat. County or Thistle will be too strong for them though.

Del Boy

To be honest, if Utd appoint a decent manager they’ll have a chance of going up next year. Majority of players are out of contract so plenty opportunity to completely revamp the squad. I think only 3 players who started last night are still under contract, including Stanton.

Fantastic feat by Livvi considering their meagre support and I presume meagre finances and especially considering they were a newly promoted club, what a job Hopkin has done .... I haven't seen them play, but by all accounts they are another 'physical' side which is a shame.

If they do come up, what will they bring to the premier league? Absolutely nothing apart from one of the better stadiums in the country. I have no arguments with who comes up or who goes down on merit, that's as it should be. But if I'm honest its doing this country's football absolutely no favours whatsoever to have clubs like Hamilton, Ross County and possibly Livvi in the top league at the expense of Dundee Utd, Dunfermline and Falkirk ... that would be a Falkirk with a 4 sided stadium and grass pitch, not the current incarnation.

I cant see it happening, but the only acceptable outcome of this for me would be if they replace Hamilton by winning the play off ... but its far more likely to be Partick Thistle and that would be a shame IMO.

Laszlo was given a guarantee by the new chairman that he'll be manager next season whether or not they got promoted. He'll be under pressure from the fans to go back on his word now.

The squad they had should have been good enough to at least run St Mirren close, not lose a play-off to a side which had only just come up from League One.
