Away from the hypothetical scenarios required to be a Hibs fans currently just how well has this guy done at WBA?

They had all but conceded they were down, he has had a stinking run of fixtures and suddenly they will be believing they can pull off a miracle. The fans must be wondering what would have been if they had sacked that imposter Pardew sooner.

I wonder how much of it is down to him being great and how much of it is down to being anyone but Pardew.

Replacing someone like Pardew must be one of the easiest jobs in management when it comes to getting a reaction out of players.

David Preece was talking very well about him on his podcast last month (before the current great run of form, so there's no hindsight involved). Played with him at Barnsley.

Moore is physically scary and has a bit of a bad boy past but has dedicated his life to community work and charity work at the same time as doing all his badges. Extremely humble in press conferences but a burning desire to win. Ben Foster, who will have offers from bigger clubs, has pledged himself to the baggies next season on the basis that he wants to play for Moore. Players seem to give a bit extra for him. Seems to be one of life's good guys. And has just out coached Mourinho, Benitez, Klopp, and Pochetino in his last four games!! It's disrespectful to underestimate his tactical know how.

He has done a brilliant job in a horrific set of fixtures.

I still can't see it being enough though. Because Swansea and Southampton play each other in their next game they'll need to hope that finishes a draw and then they'll need to hope both teams lose their last game and then West Brom will also need to beat Crystal Palace in their last match to stand any chance.

:agree:

He’s going to run out of fixtures. But he’s turned WBA into the form team, which is some achievement.

Never mind if he keeps WBA up or not, the fact they are still in with a chance ( albeit an extremely slim one ) at this stage should qualify him for manager of the year anyway .... if he does manage to keep them in the league I want him to pick my bloomin' lottery numbers :greengrin

If he'd had one extra game wba would likely be safe. Don't think they'll do it, but they'll not be far off.

You are talking about the English Manager of the Year for 2011-12. He got that by taking Newcastle to 5th place. Roberto Mancini was overlooked despite winning the League title. Since then the manager of the League Champions has won Manager if the Year every time except 2013-14 when Manuel Pelligrini was also overlooked in favour of Tony Pulis who took Crystal Palace to mid-table.

Pardew and Pulis are the archetypal hoofball merchants that the English media and establishment constantly big up. The latest in this line is Sean Dyche who is been heavily promoted for this season after taking Burnley to 6th place by playing the same sort of industrial football as Pulis and Pardew.

He’s a big lad. Wouldn’t like a slap off him.

Swansea 0 Southampton 0 20 mins to go.

So the West Brom miracle is still possible.

Edit-spoke too soon, Southampton score! 15mins left.
