You could see them carrying out CPR from the East Stand. Lasted around 10 mins. Hopefully the person is ok?

Sportsound saying they've revived the boy after a heart attack. Seen them performing CPR from the east. Thoughts and prayers with the boy and his family. Hang in mate, GGTTH.

It was a woman who was there with her daughter, was just in the row in front of me. Absolutely awful to see but brilliant that they revived her, paramedics are genuine heroes. So glad they brought her round.

Could see they were performing CPR from the FF, couldn't have been nice for those up close.

Glad to hear Sportsound and Off The Ball say the person was revived before leaving the stadium, hopefully a good sign. I assume they have a portable defibrillator in ER?

Great effort from the medical team. They were doing the CPR at quite a physical rate for a good number of minutes. Very glad to hear she was revived and hope she makes a full recovery

Someone else took ill at the end of the match in the east. They were lying on the seats in the lower section. Hopefully just too much sun. Think someone with them gave a thumbs up to another person as they went past.
Glad that they managed to revive the woman in the east. Praying that she will be ok.

Was horrendous to watch the efforts of the stewards/first aiders. Paramedics seemed to take a long time to arrive. Thought it very poignant how both sets of fans spontaneously applauded her as she was carried away. I feared the worse also given the length of time she was being worked on.

I would have had no problems with the game being stopped at that point - I recall Kevin Clancy calling, coincidentally, a Killie v Hibs game off at the start of the second half during similar scenes, which put football into perspective IMHO. I think it impacted both players and fans alike during the first 20 minutes today. Really hope the lady makes a full recovery.

Yeah I felt that way as well. It just didn’t feel right when that was going on.

Hope the person is ok. As much as they have been extremely unfortunate, the fact it happened where it did with the paramedics on hand has hopefully given them a fighting chance.

Yeah, it felt very wrong watching the game as it played out.
Was in the East as round after round of chest compression's were being conducted.

For all it doesn’t happen often I wonder if an investment in some green screens like they have at the racing might be an idea.

Something like today isn’t nice to watch, it must be difficult to work effectively in such a public setting and it can’t be nice for someone being treated to know they are being watched. Whilst that maybe wasn’t an issue today it could be if someone is being treated but is conscious.

A small outlay to afford emergency staff and patient a bit privacy seems reasonable to me.

Thankfully after a few minutes a white sheet appeared and was held in front of the incident to give some privacy.

Brilliant.
Lots of us have been trained how to do CPR but doing it for real before the professionals arrive in such a public environment must have been terrifying for the stewards concerned.
Great that they had the balls to get on with it.

Have also had a cardiac arrest, I wear an ICD so wouldn't require CPR but wear a medic alert bracelet. I would urge fellow netters to be aware of this life saving jewellery. In January this year it saved my life when the ambulance crew arrived and called the number. Hope the lady today is ok. Scary stuff.

While grim to see it unfold, I have to say it was probably the most amazing and moving thing I’ve ever seen at a match.

The way the stewards and paramedics never gave up and kept on doing everything they could to save this woman’s life was truly awesome.

Plus the spontaneous standing ovation they received from both sets of supporters when they eventually got her on to the stretcher and down to the ambulance really restored my faith in humanity.

Hopefully the lady makes a full recovery.

Assuming this was taking place in the West Lower South End?
I’m in West Upper North. Myself and those around me were completely oblivious to what was tragically unfolding just a few yards from us.
The spontaneous applause on the 18th minute took us all by surprise and being honest there were very few who participated. My thought at the time was that I’d missed one of those announcements about a young supporter or an ex player who had passed. It was a bit mystifying.

Of course, having now read the circumstances it all makes sense now.

So glad to hear that the emergency team’s actions were not in vain and wish the lady involved a speedy recovery.

Watching in Oz I wondered what the applause was for.

Hope the lady is ok, and we get confirmation soon.

On a related note, I implore all to get your blood pressure checked if you haven’t been to the quack for a while.

In 2015 I felt terrific, like I could fight King Kong and with a trip back to Auld Reekie only a month away, went to my quack for a prescription for normal auld fart’s pils for the trip home.

He took my blood pressure, and to cut a long story short I ended up in ER and had a defribiallator and pacemaker implanted.

When I told the specialist I felt fine ...he said that had I not went to the quack when I did, I probably would have been one of these people you hear about who drop down dead and nobody could understand why, as I appeared in perfect health.

Pacemaker keeps heart rate at liveable level apparently.

I sit in the West lower right near the touchline. I went to the toilet and as I was coming back I heard the applause and saw someone being carried away.

I did the job for 10 years before burn out finally got to me. I can't say often enough what a difference it makes to cardiac casualties survival chances when they get immediate first aid from bystanders or friends.

I don't know what the current statistics are but my subjective experience says that when you arrive at the scene and CPR is already being carried out, then you know you're in with a decent chance of getting the casualty to hospital alive.

I doth my hat to all those that stepped forward to do what had to be done yesterday, whoever you are you might have saved the life of someone's mum, daughter and sister. Hope the lady makes a recovery and gets back to watching the Hibs asap.

I also have an ICD fitted as I have mentioned before. I have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and am also "blessed" with two other irregular hearbeats which have caused me to have spells in hospital. A wee check with a nurse in a GP surgery can give so much peace of mind and thankfully in this country is free! I have one of the best consultants in the world looking after me, the guy who looked after Fabrice Muamba when he had his arrest at Tottenham and consider myself to be very privillaged to have him as both a doctor and for the last couple of years a friend. As I said earlier please familiarise yourself with medic alert jewellery as it saved my life in January with the amazing ambulance team here in Cambridgeshire. Again I really hope the lady is ok.

I was there as the lady had the seizure outside the club, she went over right in front of us, her friends/family had come out and we're with her when I left to go in. As you say the ambulance didn't turn up until much later, I assume that it wasn't called immediately.

I know a guy (a fan) who has twice had to give CPR to fans near him at White Hart Lane.

He was appalled at how long it took for help to arrive and took it up with Spurs (I think the first person died).

Not long after that, Fabrice Muamba collapsed during the game and Muamba was very lucky that they'd sorted it out. The main thing that saved him though was that there was a cardiologist in the crowd who took over the situation and got him very quickly whisked off to the correct hospital.

Tbh it's a surprise this doesn't happen more often. A lot of people watch football, many of whom nearly blow a gasket doing so.
