Current record = P88 W46 (52.3%) D27 (30.7%) L15 (17.0%)

*2017/18 = P34 W17 D11 L6 Pts 62 GD +15 (00/01 season = P34 Pts 62 GD +27)*

After 34 league games, we have 5 points more than we did in Mogga's 1st season, 9 more than Mogga's 2nd season, 12 more than Yogi's 1st season, 21 more than Fenlon's 12/13 season & an astonishing 28 more than the last top flight campaign we had (Butcher =) as well as 35 more than the 11/12 season under Calderwood/Fenlon!

If we can finish the season in 2nd or 3rd place (Sevco 4th  ) & secure 67 points or more, it would outline our club's best league season since 1974/75... 43 years ago!

In that season Turnbull's men finished runners up, one position behind the huns who prevented Jock Stein's legendary Lisbon Lions from winning 10IAR. What a feat that would be!

Phenomenal manager. Impossible not be excited at the possibilities with him in charge, Leanne on board, and the support at the levels at it is.

Some huge characters (and massive Hibbies) in a squad full of excellent footballers too.

He’s just terrific.

Set up, tactics, substitutions all spot on today.

^^^Agreed.

He’s pretty much got the tactics spot on in every game we’ve played this season.

We’ve maybe played poorly for a total of 180 mins or so even though we’ve had a few disappointing results.

I’ll keep saying it, we will be genuine title contenders for the next two seasons whilst he’s in charge.

Today just proved to the players that we can be the best team in the country.

6 defeats all season is brilliant, much better than anyone aside from Celtic.

If we could have converted 3 or 4 of the daft draws (through oyr fault or that of incomepetent refs) to wins we'd be challenging for the league. Arguably we should have taken full points from Celtic away, Hearts away Killie away and Motherwell at home.

Finally, finally a Hibs manager who's up to the job. This is what our 20k+ stadium was built for.

I will give credit where it was due, I've gave him some stick in the past and was 50/50 on him, but the signings in January have proved to be a masterstroke and missing piece of the puzzle, we are a complete team at the moment and it's down to lots of hard work by everyone :top marks

I picked this up from Kickback but it's worth repeating.

We already have 3 more points than they managed in their 1st season back up. They secured their total with no us and no Rangers and the pre Rodgers Celtic.

That's an impressive feat by us and we'll end up with a higher total yet.

Much as I like(d) Stokesy, I always felt another player could come in a fill his void. Players come and go and no one is totally irreplacable. What I will say is this, what Lennon has done in his short spell with us is unmeasurable. It cannot be underestimated.

You’re right about the level of the league this season, v the league they played in 3 years ago

A team together with more quality than we could have imagined.

He inherited a realy solid base but where he has taken this team is very impressive. Been a supporter for many a season and the quality from 2nd to 5th is as good as i can remember and we are the form club in the top 6. Was never a Lennon fan until know, very impressive manager and glad to call him our own.

I was critical of Lennon getting his tactics wrong against Celtc in the League Cup semi final when we sat back for the first half, but he showed today that he will learn from his mistakes and the decision to press Celtc was the key to victory.

Loved this comment on The Bears Den today "Lennon, character and personality wise, is the type of manager we need". I agree with the Sevconian though most of their neathanderals on the forum can't see past their bigotry to understand what the guy is saying..

Wasn't just pressing Celtic that won us the game. The Hibs players were brave in possession, able to retain it under pressure, pick a pass and try things. The 2nd goal was a great example. Any team can be hardworking. Hibs showed huge amounts of self-belief, skill and teamwork to take Celtic on at their own game and came out winners. That's all Lennon.

He's made Celtic far more dominant donestically though. 3 domestic defeats in 2 seasons. Delia had 8 league defeats in the same timeframe and managed 1 League Cup.

Rodgers has inproved them.

I think their undefeated season last year is proof of his ability as a manager, particularly given it was done using mostly players that had been there under Delia.

His achievements this season are more in line with expectations given their financial advantage over everyone else, including their fellow Ugly Sister.

Genuinely hope Lennon isn't tempted elsewhere for a good while yet.

Not only his swift resolution of the stokes saga but getting the two strikers and Scott Allan in. A superb last few days in January. Seen where the issues were and got Murray and stokes out and flo and mclaren in.

I'm a massive fan of Lennon. He's a passionate guy - and yes that occasionally gets him in trouble as a full on furious Lenny in the face of a referee/fourth official/player/manager is not and has never been a pretty sight. But that's part of what makes him great - it's part of a package that also includes an intelligent and articulate guy - a real football thinker with a great sense of integrity and sportsmanship that had already earned him respect throughout the game long before he was recruited at Hibs.

I'm delighted with Lennon but what makes me happier still is that he's been not the first but the third in a succession of brilliant key appointments following the utter disaster of relegation - Leanne Dempster being the first followed by the managers she subsequently appointed - Stubbs and Lennon.

Stubbs did a fantastic job, turning round a dejected club and quickly crafting a side burgeoning with talent that delivered a thoroughly deserved Scottish Cup while narrowly missing out on promotion. I was not at all surprised that Stubbs had an ambition to try his hand in his homeland on the back of that success even if somewhat bewildered by his choice of club. I'll always love Stubbsy though regardless of that.

So I think - usual Hibs - successful manager gets snapped up swiftly to be followed by (going by previous experience) a succession of steadily more desperate mediocrity. And so I was impressed when Lennon - a high profile and experienced manager with a track record of success in the Scottish game - was secured as Stubbs' successor.

But Lennon has exceeded my expectations by a long way, not so much by his smart moves in the transfer market and tactical nous, most welcome though they most definately are! But by his commitment to expansive attractive winning football and moreso than anything else, the pride, dedication and just sheer joy that he self evidently brings to and takes from the job of managing Hibs. I get the impression that Neil is enjoying and relishing the task of managing Hibs every bit as much as we are enjoying watching it and that he is in no hurry to go anywhere else. I hope I'm right and that we will have the pleasure of watching Hibs progress and develop under his tutelage for a good number of seasons yet

The man should be given a contract for life.

The consistency level we are showing right now is unprecedented in the time I've been watching Hibs.

Even although last season was in the Championship, it's incredible to think that in almost two full seasons, we have only lost 9 league matches.

I am really excited about where we can go under Lennon. I really feel we can reach a level we have never seen before.

It's the way he has got the players believing that they can beat anyone that really impresses me. Yes, we have a really strong squad with a number of 'winners' in their own right, but you can see the confidence that Lennon has given them running right through the team. McLeish had it to a fair degree and was constantly hammering home the word 'mentality' but Lennon has taken things significantly further by ensuring we have remained competitive for the entire season - and if anything we're getting stronger as the campaign heads towards its conclusion. That's a very rare thing for a Hibs side over the last few decades.

That was exactly what I thought, but I was slightly reassured by the fact that a few Celtic-supporting mates of mine raved about him - as much saying he is actually a great guy (which was hard to see from an opposition point of view) as he is a great football manager.

He won me over pretty quickly with the open, honest and passionate way he spoke.

It will be a shame when he goes, but it has been a pleasure having him in charge of our club.

He's a true leader and the type of manager we have been needing for years. When he first came here he said he wanted to get rid of the boy band mentality, this team plays for one and other and defeat and draws to your diddy teams is unacceptable. Really enjoying having him here and I'm pretty sure he will go down as a Hibernian manager legend.
