Rangers are imploding, have an average team and a toxic dressing room, we have already proved we are the better team.

Aberdeen are a good side but not as good as they have been in the past and as Motherwell proved we have nothing to fear from them.

Kilmarnock are in amazing form, but we get them at ER so avoid the plastic pitch.

We we are more than capable of taking something from the game against Celtic.

we have better players than Hearts in pretty much every position and a far better manager.

we will create chances against all these teams, if we consistently take those opportunities we will come 2nd in the league, with the boost that could give us and the downward spiral that Rangers are on, there is no reason to doubt we can be the closest challengers to Celtic for a number of seasons to come.

lets back the team like never before and ride a wave of green positivity to Europe !

I’d love for us to finish second, killie third and Motherwell to win the cup.

Title challenge would have been on this season were it not for the likes of refs like Clancy et al costing us games through poor or incompetent decision making, bottling and downright *****ing.

To be fair, we’ve had something to play for right to the end of the season every year since 2011. And it’s mostly been terrifying. I’m much more relaxed this season.

This, plus dropped points in a few games we should have won.

If we'd had Kamberi and Maclaren from day one, we would probably have won those games !

We won a lot of matches despite Stokes indifferent attitude for half the season.

Stiliyan Petrov bemoaning the 'lack of challenge' for Septic - usual weegie pish but he does make an interesting point -

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43801225

'At the moment, if you look at it, people don't take Rangers as a threat, it's more Aberdeen or Hibs," said Petrov at the John Hartson Foundation Annual Golf Day. "Rangers are not one of the biggest clubs'

1) Am liking the compliment to us -

And

2) Am also picturing the scenes in bed-sits throughout deepest, darkest Govan at the 'Rangers are not one of the biggest clubs' remark - all the 'Shug's will be frothing !

3) And I can also picture Levein/Jambos purely because they're not even quoted and, by implication, that we are a 'Big team' !

I hate to be the one to have to point this out but....

There's a lot of comments about DerHun being total she1te, but they're still 3 points and 15 goals better off than us.

Now, I'm not suggesting they're any great shakes but let's not overplay how bad they are.

Cup finals and relegation battles aside we haven't been a contender for top league glory since the Tornadoes.

Totally agree they are up and down but have been good in many games this season. The games will be very tight in the run in. Not much Celtc apart between the other teams.

We’ll have plenty better chances to finish 2nd in the future.

This is simply the start of a journey.

Bored at lunchtime so I've had a bash at figuring this out (realistically (IMO)).....

As it stands

HFC - 59
KFC - 55
HoMFC - 46

Week 1 - Celtic win, Killie Draw, AFC draw, RFC Win, Herts Lose, Hibs lose

CFC 78
RAN 65
AFC 63
HFC 59
Killie 56
Hertz 46

Week 2 - Afc Draw, Hertz Draw, Hibs Win, Killie Lose, Zombies Lose, Celtic Win

CFC 81
RAN 65
AFC 64
HFC 62
Killie 56
Hertz 47

Week 3 - AFC Draw, Hibs Draw, Zombies win, Killie Lose, Celtic Win, Hertz Lose

CFC 84
RAN 68
AFC 65
Hibs 63
Killie 56
Hertz 47

Week 4 - AFC draw, Rangers draw, Celtic Win, Killie lose, Hibs Win, Hertz lose

CFC 87
Ran 69
Hibs 66
AFC 66
Killie 56
Hertz 47

Final Games - Celtic win, Rangers lose, Aberdeen lose, Hibs win, Killie win, Hertz lose

Final table:

CFC - 90
Zombies - 69 (goal difference)
Hibs - 69
AFC - 66

Hertz - 47

Going to be very, very close I reckon and getting anything from Saturday's game against Celtic could be critical.

Of course these results are in a "vacuum" without considering teams in meltdown mode.........

Very true

The last five games will be testing and any wins will be hard fought. No two games are the same and both Rangers and Aberdeen will be be even more determined after their dismal showings in the cup. Just great that we are involved in meaningful games at the top end!

With impartial referees...I'm sure the league would look alot different.

Was just about to type the very same thing, ok, the Hun aren't all that bad BUT there's no danger they're '2nd-place' good - Scottish refereeing has put them in that spot ! Ever since the Hun announced that European-football was essential to their survival, the refs have been determined to see that they make it !

JeMeSouviens

The New Huns have (probably) had an easier set of fixtures than us up to now as well. One more home game and their away games in the 3rd round (ie. the unbalanced bit) were:

Ross County
St Johnstone
Hamilton
Partick Thistle
Motherwell

All bottom 6.

Whereas ours were:

Dundee
Celtic
Kilmarnock
Rangers
St Johnstone
Ross County

3 top 6.

We beat them 2-1 on Feb 3rd at Ibrox.

Since then they have drawn with Motherwell and also been beaten by Kilmarnock and Celtic (all at Ibrox too).

Why didn’t the refs help them in any of these games?

The refs did help them , They gave rangers a penalty at fir park for absolutely nothing ! Sent a celtic player off and they still couldnt beat them

Also that handball right in front of the ref at Easter rd in the penalty box agains the huns was an absolute stonewaller seen by everyone bar the referee , There is poor refereeing and downright cheating , I know what one i believe

I didn't mean just our games with the Hun and obviously it doesn't happen every single game (tho at times it does feel like it !) but in general, a large % of decisions for/against us since Jan/Feb have ranged from unbelieveable to 'WTF ??' - take the St.Johnstone game for example - Blair Alston should've been sent-off for what would've been (if he'd connected) , a serious-injury/possible leg-breaker on SJM. but he wasn't and went on to commit another bad fould before his own manager took him off !

Only a few in the league

Ones that come to mind are Dundee and Ross County at home

I think unbelievably we actually only one league game in which he scored (ross county)
