The terrace or O’Neill’s will probably have it on.

My local, which is about 30 minutes from the station will definitely be showing it, but I need to get out of something I've arranged.

There's bound to be a pub in town showing it too. I'll check.

DarlingtoHibee might be coming into York for the game too.

PM me and I'll keep you updated.

I got back from 4 nights in Iceland yesterday.

Either the Drunk Rabbit (2 Hibs scarves on display) or the Dubliner. I preferred the Rabbit, but both have happy hours which start at midday.

Download AppyApp which lists all the happy hours in Reykjavik and shows them as they become live. You'll thank me.

How much is a pint during happy hour there?

Best I found was 700isk, just over £5, but the app says there are some cheaper places.

Out of happy hour, and for spirits etc, it's eye wateringly expensive. Eating out costs at least twice as much as it does here, probably closer to treble.

I'm glad I've been there, and we had a lovely time doing the golden circle, whale watching and the blue lagoon, but I knew it was going to dent the finances so I was ready for it.

Backstory is my Grandad,3 sisters & previous generations lived at 33 for over 100 years until 1972.
Grandad ran Cardboard Converters on the Causewayside & was involved with Hibs as an official
in the 60s & 70s especially around the time of Jock Stein.
Lived at Clerwood Park as a youngster the moved via Southport, Buxton & Redditch to Leamington.
Travel to 3-4 matches a season now mortgage paid. Kept in touch by the Sunday Post from Mid 70s.
Thanks for the York pub tips & will p.m to meet up with Hibees in town that day . Arrive 9.45 &
leave 18.30 on train.

The Punch Bowl (Wetherspoons pub) should be open when you arrive. On leaving the station turn right and follow the main road, as it sweeps round to the left the pub is facing you on the corner at the traffic lights.

A Wetherspoon that shows football?

Ah forget that, I now see you are referring to an early pint off the train.

Some of them do - the standing order on George Street being one. There's at least one in Glasgow too I'm sure. Not many though.

It's worth it, but make sure you get cheap flights to compensate for everything else.

There are cheaper ways to eat, like fish and chips, burgers or Subway, but they're still more expensive than at home.

Wi-fi, tap water and air are free.
