View Full Version : Match Updates Development League game - Falkirk 1 Hibs 2 (FT)

Hibs development team are away to Falkirk tomorrow night (Monday 9th), 7pm KO at the Falkirk stadium. Fans are usually in the main stand. Falkirk usually have catering on, and normally free entry, but don’t quote me

Only 3 games to go in the league, and tomorrow could be a pivotal day. Our nearest rivals, Aberdeen and Dundee play at 2pm tomorrow. So tomorrow night we should know what we have to do!

If you can get along and support them tomorrow night, it would be appreciated!

Still waiting to hear when the Youth Cup final is, but it must be soon, as the final is pencilled in at Hampden for Thursday 26th April, verses Aberdeen

Will be there. Think a draw would be best for Dons v Dundee or a Dons win as we at least have them to play still.

Heard that too at the game yesterday, possibly Thursday night at ER!
Celtic under 20’s have a game on Thursday away v Aberdeen as it stands.

Hopefully hear something in the morning to confirm or not

Agree but both teams have players out on loan who play for their clubs on a Saturday

Finished 1-0 to Dundee, who are now the number one threat and temporarily top.

We need to win tonight to reclaim the lead

What are Falkirk like at this level?

Not so good this year, unless they have been playing overage players
Falkirk are at Inverness tomorrow night, so can’t see too many 1st tramets involved

Noticed Barker tweeted last night that he’d be back playing next week, presume tonight is too early for him?

still, we’ve got a cup final to get to first!

couple of falkirk fans i was sitting next to were just as baffled as me as to why it wasn't 5 or 6, poor finishing, danny should have scored in the 1st half when through in the box and blasted it over, both oli and lewis had great chances in the first 90 seconds of the 2nd half, then oli again later on having his shot saved in a one-on-one although it was at an angle so can put it down to a good save really, if there's any possession stats available i imagine it would be in the 80%+ range for the away team :agree:

Just back, after the M9 southbound was shut at the Queensferry turn off, sent us all that way before back to Edinburgh!!!

Slow start tonight, probably because of the positional changes in the team. Lost an early goal, but once we got going, completely dominated
Fantastic header from Porteous for the equaliser. As other posters have said, Swanson had 2 great chances before ht to increase our lead
2nd half was one way procession. Inside first couple of mins we had a couple of excellent chances to go ahead
Thought it might be one of these nights, but a good move saw shaw passing to Swanson to score a good team goal
Oli should have made it 3, where he shrugged off the centre half, but was unable to score past the Falkirk goalie, who I thought had an excellent game, held the hall well throughout the game
3 points were the main thing tonight, were able to rest a couple of players tonight in advance of Thursdays game, and Marvin and Danny got 90 mins game time as well

Lennon and Parker in attendance, talking to the players the whole game, must be great for the players to get the support of the 1st team management

Big game on Thursday night v Celtic, who beat Partick 3-0 tonight

Sums it up well and definitely reflects what I watched.

I thought Shaw had a good game tonight, ran the channels really well and gave their back line a torrid time.

Apart from a terrible back pass in the first half which almost lead to a goal, Porteous strolled through the game and took his goal well.
