Ordinarily I would support a Scottish athlete, but I will make an exception for this lassie.
2 years after the Scottish Cup final, and the very first thing she thinks to do - after the biggest result of her life - is to make a stupid wee gesture toward her family.
I think she is going for a hat trick of silver medals at the Commonwealth Games, and IIRC has never won a gold medal in a major championships in her career.
But never mind, she did 5-1 on the telly once

Classless, over-rated, diluded individual ( only what you might expect from a thick Jambo ). Any sportsperson who goes out of their way to make a stupid gesture or point even to the extent of including other thickos ( e.g. Scatchel) in her childish antics, about an unrelated sport statistic, should be pitied more than laughed at. Can’t stand her and I wish her all the failure that might come her way in Australia. :greengrin

She's a brilliant athlete - I think it's a great honour for her and well deserved. Who cares what football team she supports. I also like Chris Hoy who also happens to support Hearts.

If there's an event where you have to eat an apple through a letter box the fastest then you can drape the gold round her neck now and dispense with the competition :agree:
Fair play to the girl though, huge honour regardless :aok:

I think the point is that Chris Hoy would never lower himself to the levels that she did at the Glasgow Games, neither would Jamie or Andy Murray - all of whom are significantly more successful in their field.

Used to be Eilidh Child before she married, does that help?
i don't care who she supports? Would we complain if she was a Hibby and made gestures?

We're better than this surely? Banters banter but some of the comments are way OTT. Thread closed.
