I vaguely remember his very first TV appearances with Terry Scott in a comedy programme in the 1950s. I think it was called ‘Great Scott, It's Maynard’.

I was convinced he'd died years ago. I've even convinced myself that there was a thread on here about it.

RIP Bill Maynard (again).

That's what I most remember him from. He was such a different character from any other comedy around at the time.
