When you're up, you're up; but when you're down...

I will be in York next Sunday for the Cougars game at York City football ground.

Up the Cougars 😁

Also going to try the chippy Weatherby Whaler.

Seriously, if you're looking for a chippy, go to Miller's in Haxby. It's about the same distance from York as the Whaler, but it's fantastic.

It just won the official best fish and chips award and it's been in the reckoning for years.

It's the best I've ever tasted.

Have stayed in York a couple of times over the last ten years. Always enjoyed it and will end up there again in the future.

If the locals have got their bow and arrows out, take cover.

A few beers in the sun on the Knavesmire at the racing is certainly an agreeable way to spend a summers day.

Been a guy who likes a good chippy, I don't take them awards too seriously. I seen a chippy in my village other year and it's a 4 out of 10 chippy.

Not saying this applies with the one you recommend but I did check and it's not open Sunday's so can't give it a try. Will remember and give it a go one day.

Cheers

My favourite racecourse. York is a great place to stay, loads of great bars and places to eat

"Places were ranked on factors including jobs, schools, local shops and broadband speed." - They must have very fast broadband.

Only joking. Been a couple of times and it's lovely when the sun is shining.

Part of York's a shambles.

The gin shop Evil Eye looks worth a visit.

It is.

As is the House of the Trembling Madness. The name alone makes a visit compulsory.
