It's sad of course but I wouldn't really describe the death of an 80 year old as tragic.

You're right and he had a good life.

We met him when we were visiting our son, a Lancaster student in the late 90s. Bowen ran a pub in the village of Hornby and we literally bumped into him in the bar.

He told us he had started out as a teacher. His daughter had become a teacher too and was currently working in Beijing!

As a kid growing up it was a must watch. His comments at the end of the show “here’s what you could have won” when the contestants had lost was cruel but funny every time.

Shame ..... I actually know somebody who was on Bullseye.

My wee brother said they should bury him in a motorboat shaped coffin, at which point I said they should pay the minister in cash in front of the congregation at the end of the funeral :greengrin
