I was driving at Turnhouse and witnessed dozens (no exaggeration) of emergency vehicles tearing along and parking up at the airport. Anyone else see anything or know what's going on? Can't see anything on any media about it.

I just drove along the bypass and I’ve never seen as many emergency vehicles heading the other way. I didn’t know where they were going though.

They're all parked up at the airport. Don't think i've ever seen as many either, there were at least a dozen fire engines and probably twice as many police, marked and unmarked. Plenty ambulances too. Strange in these times that there's nowt about it on social media...

I just had a wee look on twitter and there wasn’t anything about it yet.

Glad i'm not imagining it! I have photos but they aren't great as I was too busy trying to wait for an opportunity to do a U turn and get out the way.

It was the number of unmarked cars with blue lights flashing that I found strange.

Maybe a training exercise?

Would they not be going to Waverley Station then?

Seems to be almost a weekly occurrence a flybe plane having issues.

Circled over Inverness before returning to Edinburgh by the looks of things.

Unmarked cars with blue lights might be a VIP escort.

I got the info I posted at 1:48pm by searching 'edi airport' on Twitter.

Not sure how others are claiming there was nothing on Twitter regarding this incident 🤔

It was because we didn’t search edi airport on twitter. I was relying on the news feeds. One day I’ll get the hang of this social media thing :greengrin

Ahhh.. Technology eh 🤔

I should also add that I don't use the Twitter app as it's evolved into an absolute mess over the years. I use a secondary app called Carbon (for android) which I find much cleaner, sleeker and just better looking. I'd recommend it over the 'official' Twitter app every day of the week.

Possibly a training exercise, I was going to Falkirk a few months ago and I seen the exact same thing, ambulances fire engines and a load of marked and unmarked police cars on the motorway, coming from the airport, asked my lad and he said there was no emergency at airport today.

They have practice drills like that regularly.

I've often been golfing at Turnhouse GC and seen all the emergency vehicles fly along Turnhouse road to get to the rear of the airport.
