Since it looks like no trains will be going down to England today if anyone is driving down and has a spare seat I'd really appreciate a lift. My final destination is Liverpool but anywhere south of Carlisle would do. Would of course be happy to contribute with petrol money. (Admins: apologies if this is inappropriate.)

Could you get a train from Carlisle? The X95 (Borders Buses) is running a Sunday service between Edinburgh and Carlisle.

Virgin are running buses from Glasgow to Carlisle then trains south.
