Don't understand why they can't play it cup weekend as both teams are free and with Hearts away from home it shouldn't be a problem for getting police/stewards.

At that sort of ratio we'll be very close to selling out the three home stands.

Looks like we'll be heading for an attendance of around 16,500-17,000 which would be remarkable for a run of the mill Wednesday night league game against Hamilton.

Attendancies have been remarkable this season. Heading for our highest average since the 50s. Personally my next match is the Partick game at the end of March, i really wish it was sooner.

This is a new era for the club.

This diddy team relegated us three years ago nearly turning us into a diddy team in the process. This diddy team have held their own in the premier league ever since and the best we have managed from this diddy team this season is one point.

Its the so called 'diddy teams' who have given us most problems this season, so lets leave the diddy this & diddy that to the Yams eh?

Personally, I agree with your sentiments and therefor hope we skelp the buggers big style. they bullied us off the ball and their front players bashed in and stole the show at ER. we played them aff the park at New Douglas Park yet managed only a point. they are due a bloody good rogering!

Generally agree with most of your posts but the reality is that Hamilton are a diddy team regardless of how well they’ve done. The have 300-500 fans and have done remarkably well to get to the premiership never mind staying their but they are a small/diddy club.

Rather like Airdrie and Clyde, their spell in exile pretty well destroyed their fanbase and even an extended run in the Premiership shows no sign of bringing it back.

They spent 7 years at Firrhill and Cliftonhill. Even moving in next door to the site of their former stadium has not rebuilt a community club following.

They were once a club on a par with Motherwell and St Mirren but no longer.

Wouldn't say it's an outside chance; unlike us, Aberdeen and Rangers both have to play Celtic again, and they also have to play against the toughest teams that we'll be playing before the split, so we should gain two or maybe three points on at least one of them in the next couple of weeks, putting us more or less neck and neck. I'd say we have a pretty good chance of being top 3.

Unless you're worried about Killie laying waste to everyone in sight and hitting second or third - I can sympathise with that.

Wasn't so much worried about Killie, though I wouldn't discount them altogether, more about the five point gap that there is between us and Aberdeen and Sevco.

I think five points is a lot to make up at this stage in the season, particularly as both of those sides are generally in as good form as we are.

We're capable of beating them, so it's not out of the question, but it's whether or not they'll drop six more points than we do between now and the end of the season.

That five point gap looks more like two or three points when you factor in that they (Aberdeen AND Sevco) are playing the barely-vincible Celtic twice and we only have to play Celtic once. Outperforming one of those two teams by one game over the other ten seems very doable, especially given Sevco's leakage of goals against Accies the other day, and our result against Aberdeen.

Small is fine, that's exactly what they are. Diddy isn't ... diddy gives the impression that they aren't due respect because they are a small club. To Man Utd or Arsenal or Newcastle United Hibs are a small club ..... Compared to Celtic Hibs are a small club. But to me Hibs are the best club in the world because I support them ... I can accept us being called a 'small' club by fans of far bigger clubs because to them we are ..... but I would express my disappointment in the strongest possible terms if a supporter of any of these clubs called Hibs a 'diddy' club.

To the 1000 or so folk who do support Hamilton on a Saturday their club means as much to them as ours does to us and as a football fan I wouldn't dream of disrespecting their loyalty by telling them they support a 'diddy club' .... a loyalty by the way that has been far less rewarded than ours to Hibs has over the years.

As far as I'm concerned you can file the expression 'diddy club' right beside that other well known football phrase 'natural order' ..... It's beneath us, and if there is such a thing as 'Hibs class' calling another club a 'diddy club' is as about as far removed from that as anything I can think of.

I think there will be more than a few empty seats. Some St holders will be working and with kids having school the FF lower will be worse than normal. At least the seats are sold and the club has the money but I wish there was a better way for folk to hand back seats that were not going to be used. If the seat is sold to someone else then the ST holder gets a few quid added to their account that they could use in the club shop.

Mine too. I usually laugh in the face of the weather when it comes to making it to Easter Road and I've driven through some horrible conditions to get there and back before, but this looks like its going to be horrendous and safety comes first, especially with kids in the car.

I was more thinking about games were we do sell out and still have lots of empty seats.

I don’t understand this obsession with empty seats. There are a lot of empty seats in the FF Lower largely because of heavily discounted children’s season tickets and seats empty for evening matches. A price hike might reduce this. Or would it simply replace empty (sold) seats with empty unsold seats?

How many matches this season have there been Hibs supporters unable to get a ticket? Four at maximum so far. And I suspect very few were disappointed.

I agree that it would be nice if a ticket exchange system were in place. I have missed a number of matches this season while working away. However I can see why the club would prefer to sell unsold seats than faciliticate season ticket holders to resell already purchased seats. It would cost the club in two ways, firstly through the expense of running the scheme and secondly the lost of sales in the South Stand and elsewhere if late purchasers went for recycled season tickets.
