I’ve just finished reading the Ashlee Vance book about Elon Musk.
I’ve read a lot of biographies over the years and found this one utterly fascinating.
When a mans goals are to ‘change cars, save the environment & make humans interplanetary’ you know you’re dealing with someone a bit different & special.
Of course like many visionaries he has his critics and detractors too.

Anyone else read it?

Not read it but probably will do now you have flagged it as I’ve been somewhat fascinated by Musk for ages.

The drive, ambition and sheer bloody mindedness to achieve what he has so far is difficult to comprehend.

Had the honour of meeting him a couple of years ago at a conference he was giving a special invited talk at.

For someone who's revolutionising the way humanity exists on our little rock, he's one of the most humble, approachable and personable people I've ever met.

Not only was he happy to answer questions on some of his projects, but took the time out (and showed interest) in the stuff I was working on at the time.

His cars sell like slinkies in city of bungalows when tax subsidies are stopped.

Tesla will be an epic short when the chickens come home to roost.

I like him, the guy is either a super-villain or actually trying to make a positive change in the world. He seems passionate about what he does and I'm all for space exploration, I only wish I could afford one of his cars.

Because of....Continual production delays..,cash shortfall, electric cars won’t take off....stock overhyped & overvalued..?...all of the above :)
Why are you so bearish?

If more capitalist invested their earnings in research and development instead of huding it in the Cayman Islands or budding up the price of Picassos, the world economy might start to grow some.

I'm just going for lunch with a former SpaceX employee so I need to bite my lip.
