I realise that this isn't an exact science, but it's interesting and fun to do.

The answers I gave make me 50% Left, 36.1% Liberal.

44.4% left and 44.4% liberal. I'd like to think that's pretty accurate.

Ha ha some odd questions and I fired through it but 44.4% right and 44.4% liberal is probably pretty accurate.

When I say accurate I’m assuming that translates to small government but personal freedoms.

I should maybe change my user name to Milton ;-)

The quadrants are explained underneath the results.

In your case;

Right-communitarianism (Conservatism): Individuals in this quadrant seek to retain the traditional social and economic order and to uphold the sovereignty of the state. They tend to see themselves as the defenders of what their forebears would have wanted, favoring strict immigration laws, traditional values, and a strong military. While they typically see a role for the state in matters of national security and culture, they tend to be more skeptical of state involvement in the economy.

Thats a fairly Washington-centric test...very narrow parameters between accepted right of centre orthodoxy (although by saying that im probably proving i'm a leftist extremist:greengrin) In what universe is Obama considered an extreme leftist?? (although i agree that he's slightly more liberal as opposed to a communitarian).

Im 77.8% Left, 19.4% Liberal. Almost exactly where Obama is on the graph...

8.3 left 8.3 communitarian. So does that mean I'm straight down the middle?

Left-communitarianism (Social Democracy): Individuals in this quadrant seek to promote communal solutions to both social and economic problems. They tend to see themselves as supporting a mode of government that curbs the excesses of capitalism and diminishes inequality by virtue of a mixed economy and a universal welfare state. They seek to encourage collective solutions, economic redistribution and shared values throughout society by means of participatory democracy and the state.

Thanks for that. Not sure I entirely agree with it all but I suppose it's not an exact science.

2.8% left, 47.2% Liberal.

The left/right one is a strange one for me. I don't often have opinions that are down the middle - I hold fairly strong right and left wing views that often seem to cancel each other out in the middle.

Not surprised to get quite a high liberal score though, as that is one I can certainly identify with.

36.1 left and 44.4 liberal, would say I'm more left leaning than that but I was nuetral with a couple of vague questions, maybe overthinking them and thinking I can actually see the need for war without international agreement etc

I'm somewhere between Obama and Clinton which is total nonsense as I'm much more left leaning than either of them

16.7% Left, 72.2% Liberal I seem to be an outlier.

There's a similar thing at https://www.politicalcompass.org/uk2017 which shows where the UK parties sit (assuming you believe they would act in accordance with their manifestos).

Good or bad? Who knows...! I did give a lot of neutral answers - that maybe reflects that i dont hold a lot of fixed views, and so i like a bit of context before answering. Probably WAY overthinking it...!

That's a God-awful set of questions.

Some of the choices are just ridiculous: "What's more important, equality or growth?" In what way are these things necessarily contradictory?

Anyway apparently I am Bill Clinton.

I suspect it's more diverse than that. There was a thread on one of the Rangers fan forums recently about some statue of Margaret Thatcher, and opinion was sharply divided. I'm sure there's a significantly higher proportion of right-wingers among the Rangers support than for most other teams, but there will still be a fair chunk of people who are aligned to one or other Labour Party faction.

(For me, 58.3% left, 61.1% liberal)

I'd imagine that the highest proportion of the Rangers support would be very left wing - traditional, working class, Labour voting Unionists.
