Quite gutted to see Fontaine leave so, for lack of a better word, curtly.

Would have been nice for him to get an ovation from the fans for his efforts. May yet happen tonight I suppose.

Very dignified statement regarding Stokes. He still leaves a legend.

Gutted at both but they're obviously leaving under very different circumstances.

I wish Fontaine all the best and look forward to welcoming him back to Easter Road in the near future.

I'm actually sad to see Fonts go. He gave everything in his time with us and was a true professional in every sense.
I wish him well in wherever he ends up.
Stokesy I've already commented on in another thread. He too goes with my best wishes.

Sad to see Fontaine leave, he knew what the club meant and loved being here.

For his career it's probably the best move and I wish him the best.

Only a week or two ago Fonts was quoted as saying he would love to finish his career at Hibs.... its a real shame for all concerned. He was a very good player, just at the wrong end of the age spectrum and to low in the pecking order. Good Luck Fonts. Always a Hibee! GGTTH

Fonts took Hibs to his heart and really got us, I really hope he gets to come on the pitch at half time to say cheerio. All the best to the big man, hope he gets a new gig soon.

Have commented on Stokesy departure on another thread.
Saddened to see Liam go. Always gave 100% to the cause and showed his appreciation of the backing of the fans by applauding them after games.
Good luck for the future Liam, hope to see you grace ER with your presence soon.

Gutted that Fonts has left - a real languid and classy centre half. He will do well at Ross County - LEGEND.

Would have liked to keep Fontaine but he's too good a player to be 4th choice in our squad for his position. Hope he does well wherever he ends up and will get a warm welcome if he returns to Easter Road.

Stokes is more frustrating that anything else. Brilliant player when he wants to be but his attitude is holding him back, no doubt there will be plenty of clubs willing to accept his flaws in return for getting a player of his talent but I think its all downhill for him from here on out.

Also gutted to see Fontaine leave. Very accomplished player for us and we should be grateful for all he did in a Hibs jersey.

Footballing ability aside, over the past few years we've had more players that seemed like good lads, people that you would imagine would be a good influence around the place. Fontaine, I suspect, will be a good influence on other players, so from that point as much as any I think will make him a big loss.

I look forward to following his musical career in due course.

Issue is he is 5th choice behind Porteous, and he needs games.

Good luck Liam, I fear for stokes.

I don't. He'll always find a club but he'll probably have to work his way down the ladder each time.

What a waste.
There's been other players that statement applies to and AS won't be the last unfortunately.

Good luck Fonts. A classy operator and wish him all the best.....

As for Stokesy, again I wish him all the best and thank him for THAT performance on 21/05/16. It hasnt worked this time and that happens in life. We now draw a line in the sand and on we go. Starting at 7:45 tonight.

However, some of the comments about Stokes (and Allen too for that matter) are definitely not Hibs class.

Stokes; Good riddance to bad rubbish.

That "bad rubbish" helped us get the cup that noone else had been able to do ever. Now I've not been his biggest fan, but that's a shocking comment to make on here.

Sorry to see both go.

Fontaine was a particular highlight for me during his time here, just unfortunate to come to us at a time when we had an abundance of good defenders, I think Porteous' improvements over the summer took everyone by surprise but it meant Fonts was too far down the pecking order. He's too good to sit on a bench, I hope he does well.

Stokes will always be a legend for that performance, but he let himself and Hibs down with his behaviour on his return, whether it's as bad as some say or not he still was definitely not behaving to the standard we expect away from games and it was affecting the rest of the team. While is goals were a major reason we won the cup our team spirit got us there to give him the opportunity to perform as he dies. I wish him no ill will and hope he finds somewhere he's happy play football because he is a talent, I just fear that it won't happen for him.

Sad to see both go, but that is football. I was hoping Stokes would have been worth money to us when he left but circumstances ended that. Still 45 goals in 94 appearances are impressive stats. Good luck to both.

A tale of two legends.
Good luck Stokesy. Cant help think he's another who will spend is retirement bemoaning his own lack of application and questionable attitude.
A legend, but one who appeared to try to sully his own status. And for me will rightly remain a legend. but it will be qualified by slight shake of the head and a hint of disappointment.

Big Fonts!? What a guy!
A legend who's name will never be tarnished (with possible exception to his musical intervention :greengrin).
Always seemed to come across that he loved his time with us and Embra in general. The feeling is reciprocated big man.
As good a center back as we had had in donkeys years when he first arrived. Just a pity for him that injury and age has left him at the back of a 5 man queue at a time when i can never remember us being so strong in that position. Absolutely deserves to, and should be playing first team football. Best of luck in the world to him. Really hope he helps keep County up now.
Gutted that he hasn't been given the chance to take a bow. Something the Hibs board MUST rectify at the first possible opportunity.
Whenever i hear his name mentioned in the future, it will bring nothing but a smile to my face.
Thank you to a top player and top geezer.
