Marciano
Rherras McGregor Hanlon Stevenson
Boyle McGinn McGeouch Barker
Maclaren Matulevicius
Couple reasons for this unorthodox selection:
Time to play players that fit their position. Rherras is a right back, Ambrose IS NOT a right back. If you're going to sign a right back to be below not a right back in the pecking order, what is the ****ing point of signing said right back?
Our wingers - whilst fast and direct - cannot be relied on to consistently create chances and score goals, so we can't play one up front. Slivka has been playing well but is sacrificed as a consequence.
Our strikers haven't been scoring, so we might as well try the one we've never played (and is a target man so wingers might actually work) and the one we've signed who is a PROVEN GOALSCORER. Starting Shaw, then Murray, then Shaw as lone striker in the games since we've signed this guy (goals scored: 1) have been absolutely baffling decisions from Lennon. Having two wingers and a target man would be great service.

Feel like some of our players will need a rest so could be a chance to try some new players.

Barker................Slivka...........Swanson....
........................Maclaren........
Efe was solid yesterday
Stevenson rarely gets a rest
Swanson has looked good and deserves a start
Boyle hasn’t quite been at it lately
Slivka has been better so deserves to keep his start
Maclaren to freshen things upfront

Controversial to drop McGinn but I feel playing him and McGeouch at the same time is harming us in the final third.

Ambrose has played right back for Nigeria in the World Cup finals. He does my head in from time to time and there was no excuse for his performance at the piggery the other week but in the 2nd half yesterday he was excellent.

Dont think Lenny will be giving Danny a start for the moment, though i do think a fit & focused Swanson brings loads to the team hopefully we'll be seeing that in the near future.

I'd start McLaren. Shaw was poor yesterday.
Plus McLaren is only in on a short loan, if he's not ready to play then it's a pointless signing as there isn't actually that many games left for us this season.

I HONESTLY THOUGHT OF THAT TEAM AS WELL BUT i DO NOT THINK LENNON IS BRAVE (OR DAFT) ENOUGH TO TRY IT. (SORRY FOR CAPS -DID NOT REALISE i HAD LEFT CAPS ON)

Not based on anything apart from it's been expected all transfer window, I'd be delighted if he stays but we all expect him to be away, hence why that team is without him.
Irrespective of what team plays 3 points are paramount.

I like this and appreciate your reasoning.
Tempted to play Slivka instead of Boyle though. Appreciate he’s not a wide player but he’d maybe offer a bit more solidity and protection to the newbie behind him.

We've scored 11 goals in our last 11 games and we desperately need a goalscorer. I'd like to see MacLaren start and if he's not fully fit then just see how long he lasts. Sub him at half time if need be.

Raging reality is such an apt name for that post.
I'm not sure how many people know this but Lennon gives weekly press conferences pre match and they are uploaded to hibs TV YouTube which is free for anyone to view.
He often gives insights into players fitness and selection quandaries.
Right now, rherras hasn't played since October and due to the high volume of games they aren't able to get a firm grasp of his fitness levels and don't want to risk starting him. Btw for a stand in right back Ambrose has done a good job for us, and was exceptional second half Vs Celtic.
Maclaren is much in the same boat, not played much football and isn't sure on his level of fitness.
He's damned if he does, and damned if he doesn't play them. If they're not fit enough and have a stinker, some fans will write them off and it'll start a negative perception of these players. If he doesn't play them he has people asking questions like the above, when the rationale is out there for anyone who cares to look.
