Currently 1 nil to Newport County v Spurs. It would surely go down as one of the most famous cup shocks ever if it stays like this?

Not a skeletal spurs cup team either. Kane and at least four or five regular starters playing.

20 mins to go and Spurs don’t look like scoring despite having all the ball.

Spurs have been brutal, maybe the manager being linked to the Real job hasn't helped, still no excuse though, taken this game far too lightly.

Mr White

The pitch looks a wee bit gorgie-esque but even so Spurs shouldn't be in this position.

Another game that is, just in case anyone thought I meant another goal.

Haha fair play to Newport, the replay is the least they deserve.

If Spurs go on to the semis will their semi be played at Wembley? I can’t see them moving the final from there under any circumstances.

The Newport chairman will be delirious.
A replay will run their club for a year and push them forward.

They are League 2 but will still get a few bob without the FA cup. I’m not so sure the Chairman will be that delighted. Pleased when he thinks about the extra cash but I doubt it will make or break them.

Turnover of £2m apparently. This should boost that a fair bit.

Liverpool still my favourite English team to watch just now sensational going forward at times. And a bit lax at the back shall we say makes for great viewing, for yourself probably makes you want to pull your hair out 😉

VAR is going to make the game a lot more stop/start but with more accuracy of refereeing. Maybe the 60 minutes of play idea with the clock stopping when the ball isn't in play could be a good plan.

Didn’t see it but if it takes 3 minutes to decide then it isn’t a clear error. Why so long?

I agree, they should have to trust the word of the video ref. Just like they would if one of the linesman gave a decision.

I think VAR can work but it’s been poorly implemented so far. As usual no one has thought about the supporter’s experience.

1. Should only be used in stadiums with big screens so supporters atin the ground and at home know what’s going on and can see the same video feed the VAR ref is looking at
2. The referee has to trust the VAR refs decision rather than looking at the wee monitor himself
3. Managers should be able to request x number of VAR reviews provided it’s an incident that meets the criteria
4. Players should be automatically booked for requesting VAR reviews
