Sad to hear the passing of Jimmy Armfield. Always worth listening to his comments.

I've enjoyed listening to him on Five live for about twenty years. Always seemed like a good guy. Sad news.

I had his 'chewing gum card' when I was a laddie as well as players like Jimmy Scoular, John Charles & Brian Clough, etc.

Sad news. RIP, Jimmy.

That is very sad news. I heard the guys wishing him well last weekend. There was a great interview with him on 5 Live a few months ago where he told his unfortunate story of missing out on the 66 World Cup due to injury. A very insightful and likeable guy who’ll be greatly missed. RIP Jimmy.

I feel really sad about this. Loved listening to him, loved his voice, and always thought that he seemed like a decent guy.

I’m auld enough to remember seeing him on the telly playing for Blackpool.

A good, old fashioned right back.
