Is this not old news? The length of contract each club is offering is the issue. Or have I just made that up?

Been a rumour since last summer at least. Exactly the quality of player they usually manage to acquire from SPL rivals.

We can’t be losing players to our rivals.

:agree:

Tell them in no uncertain terms to bolt.

We will be losing John Mcginn in the summer

We cannot lose Dylan too. The board must know this and I’m sure every thing will be done to keep him.

He’s our best player

We should make a move for Shinnie and Rooney

We should start unsettling their players. Make an approach to Sellic for Christie or something.

Surely for some Edinburgh is a much more appealing work location compared to the *****hole that is Aberdeen?

Noticed at home game v Aberdeen at final whistle mcinnes headed straight over to Dylan and had a word in his ear.
Looked a bit suspicious to me at time.

Pisses me off year on year that we let contracts renewals / offers get to this stage.

Who was the last good player we lost due to freedom of contract?

Not saying you’re wrong, just can’t remember it being an issue for a while.

Bugger going to play infront of small crowds every other week in a crumbling stadium freezing your nuts off next to the north sea. Wouldn't appeal to me.

The thing is there is absolutely nothing clubs can do about it. The way the world of contracts and agents are now players will do this most of the time now. As soon as they are able to talk to clubs, and often when they shouldn't be, agents will start to sniff about clubs to see if they can get a better deal at other clubs

Problem is money, get an extra 1k plus a signing on fee of 50k.

We can tell them to bolt all we want but he can sign a pre-contract now so we need to persuade him to sign a new contract soon

You sense the MSM have have been waiting for the Hibs bubble to burst and will relish digging up (or inventing) every and any negative story they can at the moment. At the same time, bolstering anything Hearts and Huns do.

The new order in Edinburgh doesn't sit well with they Yam-loving ex-player media buddies, who must be close to suicidal. Anything they can do to stop 10-in-a-row ....

Said a few months ago my gut instinct is he won't be here next season as I think he will get better financial offers elsewhere (and the next 2 contracts he signs are likely to be his biggest in his career so will likely come down to money).

I just think if he was going to have renewed he would have done so by now. Hope I'm wrong.

I must admit this sheep sniffing thing worries me. Should it be on the graham rix thread?

There would be no point in him going to Aberdeen.
The English Championship is where the danger lies.

Which could be realistic if the chat about Kenny McLean to Norwich is true.

Hibs have offered him a 3 year deal, which IMO is generous considering his injury history. However this season he has been worth every penny of his contract and he really has shown what he can do - all the stops should be pulled out to get him signed up.

The sale of McGinn for decent money would help bring a lot of this to a conclusion. Until then, we run the risk of losing good players like DM.
