This could be key to stopping the niggly wee git.

Just do to him what they did to Barker first opportunity we get.

He’ll need to get on the ball first. Remember Lafferty isn’t there for them to lump balls up to. Even if he was, would Levein be courageous and gung-ho enough to play two attacking players so far-up and close to each other :)

Play our usual game against them and we should get the job done, while a replay at Easter Road suits us fine (and a lot better than it suits them).

I like this position.

Yup. We're coming up against a weaker Hearts side than we played the other week. Absolutely no reason we should be concentrating on them.

They just signed Naismith.

Hearts have been working on their scrummaging and line outs all week.

Its where they think the game will be won.

Instant red for Hibs player if they do what Hearts have done in recent games against us.

Bartley has been sent off for next to nothing...twice, their 16 year old "wonderkid" wiped out McGinn and got booked. That tackle was verging on assault as no attempt was made for the ball.

Doubt we'll need to but I'd just rotate round and have someone constantly doing annoying wee fouls on him. He'll probably lash out eventually.

I actually think he's a wee bit average. Bit like Miller, average player went quite far because of fitness and work rate. Skill level is really quite low though.

To be fair, that was a great tackle on Barker.

To be honest I would've been more concerned about Lafferty than Naismith.

Lafferty is perfect for Levein hoofball. Keeper to Berra, HOOOOOOOFFFFFF, hope Lanky wins it. Levein 101.

Naismith actually requires passes along the ground which isn't compatible with Levein Hoofball.

He'll make a difference but that's probably about all.

We shouldn't worry.

Too much :cb

That's exactly where I'm at. I really can't see what Naismith has to offer in a team that launches it every time they gain possession. Lafferty will at least win headers.

A special plan for stopping a 30+ loanee who can't get in the match day squad for a bottom half English 2nd tier team and hasn't played a 1st team game in months.

Ok then.

The only plan anyone has on Naismith is his nurse when she has to organise his pills for the week in his little Monday-Sunday boxes.

Exactly what I was thinking.

He's a decent signing for them and an improvement on what they had before in the forward areas but that's not saying very much.

Lets not kid ourselves, Naismith was a premier league player just a couple of seasons ago and has had a few injuries which have prevented him from pushing into the first team for Norwich recently.

I'm still confident we have enough to beat them on Sunday but the last thing we should do is go in totally dismissive of Naismiths capabilities.

He was a Premier League player a couple of seasons ago when teams didn't have ****e, De Bruyne, Salah, Pogba, etc. playing. Steven Fletcher did better down there. He's quite average. Let's not build him up to more than he is. He'll improve them but hardly EPL quality and would struggle to get a game for most Championship teams down south. Be cognisant of him and the different challenge he may bring but let's leave it at that.

I was expecting SJM to have left us by now so if he doesn't leave in the next few days then, for me, having McGinn for Sunday is as big a coup as getting Naismith is for them. Bigger, if we still have him come 1st Feb.

2 years is a long time in football. If he's ended up at Hearts it hardly suggests there were a host of clubs banging his door down.

Naismith was a good player. He's had injuries and a long time away from 1st team football so I'd question what his short term impact will be.

God no - no more replays, lets just rip em apart at the PBS !. No more 'money-spinning' replays for them - beat them 1st time out then sit back and watch them crumble at the realisation their season's finished even earlier this year - January instead of the their usual February !

:agree:

It would have the added benefit of stopping them boasting about how long it is since we won at the PBS (pathetic given they haven't beat us in the last 9 games).

I would be great (but I'm not holding my breath !) if the TV-people actually highlight their 'tackling' (common assault !) our players will be undoubtedly be forced to endure ! As every derby passes, they're getting more and more desparate for a win and not giving 2 f's in how they achieve it - last game their 'tackling' was brutal !

The last time he played football was 22nd august and that was a mid week engish league cup game.
The yams erses are flapping, I know which changing room I'd rather be in on Sunday, and so do the Hibs players.

Naismith was a quality player but only time will tell how nuch he can contribute at his current level.
He's a great bkoke off the pitch, some great charity work both in Glasgow and Liverpool from him especially around Christmas time.
