Not sure I see it quite the same.

I'd say Slivka, McGeouch and McGinn are always (or should always) be fighting for two places as pure Centre mids.
Bartley is a tactical choice that's favouring solidity over attacking potential so in that sense Allan would be competing with him after a fashion.

I can see us playing a back four, McGeouch, Allan and McGinn in the midfield, Barker and Boyle on the wings and one up front.
Mind you, it's late so I may just have named a 12 man team ;)

I don't get the clamour for another forward. We have 4 on the books and often play with one of up front.

Swanson and Allan didnt play today and both are attacking players.

A slight concern over how little game time McLaren has got so far but our bench didn't seem light this evening.

It would be silly to bring in another striker on a decent wage only for them, McLaren or Shaw to join Big Dave in the stand on match days.

We won tonight in a game that we drew similarly earlier on this season.... the striker we've looked at for 2 weeks looked like a great addition to essentially our other starting 10.... we're in good shape and it really doesn't look anything like 'hibs of old'.
