Terrific news.

Squirrel's an amazing talent and its a real coup for us with him signing an extension to his deal. Well done Hibs and to Martin Boyle.

According to the article it was verbally agreed and it would appear that it has now been signed

It came out at the AGM. Must have been just verbal though as suggested - good job nothing fell through!

Must be one of the most improved players in Scotland.

He's maturing into a superb player.

When he first arrived it would fair to say he was a bit raw.

During the first half of the game on Saturday John McGinn hit a decent ball out to Boyle on the right touchline, but it was a ball that still left Boyle with a lot to do to get it under control.

He managed to kill the ball brilliantly, get it under control and get motoring up the line in no time at all.

I don't think he'd have been able to do that so well a couple of years ago.

Boyle's development has been one of our brightest points of the last few years and he is now deservedly one of our most important players and one of the first names on the team sheet.

I've watched a bit of the English Championship of late, and it is a league that is pretty low on skill and pretty high on physical attributes. There are some big clubs down there wasting some crazy money on some very average players. TBH many of them could do a lot worse than look at the likes of Boyle as a relative bargain, I reckon he'd be a huge success there.

Hopefully he stays with us for a bit longer as he is still improving with us - but if he should choose to move on, at least this means we'd get a few quid for him.

That loan swap for Alex Harris turned out to be a deal and a half.

Was signed weeks ago. Was announced at the AGM.

I thought the agreement to sign was weeks ago and anounced at the AGM and the actual signing this week. Imagine if his career was over after we’d injury. What a dilema that could have been fior both parties. Call me cynical.

"Martin Boyle has agreed a new contract" is probably what was said....and obviously we interpreted that as "signed".

That ties in with the wording of the media release.
