Aberdeen.

No surprise there.

To be honest, while I rate him highly I would rather we went for younger players.

it was probably the 3.5yr contract that persuaded him!!

Would have really liked to have signed him but I’m glad Hibs presumably didn’t attempt to compete with that. And if we did then I think we’ve got off lightly.

Or the familiar manager and team that is better than any Scottish one interested m?

Why? He's a brilliant player in his prime.

He's a pacy winger who will be 34 by the time the contract is due to end. I imagine we'll still be feeling stung after giving Whitty a 3 year deal.

Why did he leave Aberdeen in the first place?

I find it strange that they've re-signed him & that he's decided to join them. Pretty sure he was finding himself on the bench most weeks before he left.

Partially agree. McGinn is in his prime and can come inside. He would have been a class signing.

3 and a half year deal on good money probably swung it. His move to South Korea showed what he values in football. He was a decent player a couple of years ago but i'd have been a bit miffed if we'd signed him a contract to 2021. McInnes knows he'll get the best year or two out of him and then he'll be away before an ageing McGinn's wages become an issue for Aberdeen.
