I can't thank Lewis, and the Testimonial Committee, enough for their ongoing support. I normally hold a Christmas auction to raise funds for Kicks for Kids STs but thought this year that their gesture was absolutely wonderful so spared you all from further fundraising attempts :greengrin

What a wonderful young man Lewis is and I am extremely proud that he plays for our club plus chooses to help our less fortunate fans :not worth

Lewis hopefully will get an honourary role within Leith Links when he eventually leaves the club if we can't keep him on as an ambassador because I can't for the life of me see him playing elsewhere.

If ever there was a demonstration of the phrase "Hibs Class" this is it.

Well done Lewis you are a credit to yourself, your family and Hibs.

Top man. Proud he is a Hibby.

I really do get the feeling that in 40 years time people will be talking about Lewis Stevenson. Other than someone like Pat Stanton I can't think of someone more deserving of having won both cups with us. A very, very classy and humble individual.

Certainly my favourite player in my thirty odd years as a Hibee.

Not that it matters of course, but he's not funding this out of his own pocket I assume? Handing them over on behalf of the club right?

Anyway, a great thing to do. The reconnect with the local community and worthy stakeholders within it over the past few years has been great to see.

Paul Hanlon can't be far away from a testimonial season either, can he? Hope we can keep a hold of him because that's two fantastic, fantastic servants to the club we've got in the team just now.

Lewis Stevenson once kicked a horse on the chin. It's believed that it ended up as the first ever giraffe.

A wonderful 'thank you' letter was received by Hibs today and it has been passed on to Lewis and his wife :not worth

"Hi Sue and Lewis,

I hope you and Lewis have had a good festive period. Given I don’t have Lewis’s email I wonder whether you could pass on this email.
Like the “Club” the festive period is always a busy period caring for young people, so this is my first opportunity to write to you and Lewis Stevenson formally. I would like to pass on our gratitude for such a generous gift form Lewis. Our young people and a couple of ex resident young people were delighted with the gifts we were able to purchase at the Club Store. The gifts were a complete surprise and they were overwhelmed at Lewis’s kindness and generosity.

It seems inadequate to simply say thank you for the individual kindness and generosity, but entirely befitting of the club and its personnel that since it’s foundation it has striven to care for and about others and facilitate belonging and understanding. The continuation of this benevolence is both humbling and inspiring and credit to the principle foundations of such a great football club.

On behalf of all at Lothian Villa, may I thank you once again and wish you and all at the Hibs family a happy and prosperous New Year".

If people speak of Lewis in the future in the same way Pat is spoken of now, then Lewis will have really achieved something in his lifetime.

He is certainly deserving of such an accolade as he is a true ambassador for all the club stands for in the surrounding community and in Scottish football as a whole.

Sometimes footballers are tagged with being selfish and big headed but not Lewis. Like Pat he is humble of his upbringing and strives to do his best in every thing he does.

He is not a flamboyant player or a stand out figure in our team but he is consistent and gives his all and learns. He may not be blessed with the utmost footballing flair but NO ONE can take away him being the only person in recent times to have one both cups with one team!

His kindness is shown again with the giving of the Christmas vouchers to disadvantaged kids, yes the money didnt come out of his own pocket literally but did come out of the pot that his Testimonial Year had raised.

He truly is a lovely young man with the world in front of him, from which i hope he gets everything he deserves. A Hibee Legend!
