Kid who works for me in the office is a BCFC season ticket holder and is there tonight. He was like a kid at Christmas today. He had a half day booked.

Oh to be 20 again.

City are a good team, definitely my tip to go up this season. There is some momentum building, and a real buzz around the city.

**** - 1-1 Zlatan.

I thought it was a bit odd there was no ‘Tonight’s Games’ thread. As soon as one appeared this late I knew without even looking that Man Utd had conceded a goal:greengrin

Haha in fairness it was because of the quality of the goal rather than any anti-Man U sentiments honest!

My sentiments are pro Bristol city as well as Anti Man U.

Also it was a quality strike.

I really hope the Man U fans don’t come on to try to protect the players, could be scary!

Quality good natured pitch invasion. Admirable restraint from man utd fans ;)

Mr White
20-12-2017, 08:55 PM
Shocking scenes now. Though it doesn't seem as bad without Andy Walker moralising and the fans of the losing team coming on to fight the celebrating supporters.

Folk say the cups have been devalued because the bigger clubs look down their nose at them but try telling that to Bristol City fans tonight. Great scenes and as it should be. Hopefully no United fans felt the need to ‘protect their players’.

Prefer Rovers myself but City have the best away kit in the country. Tone the shorts down and Hibs should go for it.

Well done to Bristol City; what an occasion for them. They were right up for it, as you'd expect, and deserved that. United didn't look interested until Bristol went ahead. That was classic cup football and their fans are a bit pleased - great pitch invasion!

Well done bristol City.

Club 1872 will be issuing a statement about that pitch invasion though and police Glasgow should be asked to assist with the identification of all the miscreants on the pitch.

Lived opposite the Mem when I was at Uni and they used to play in Bath (my home town) at Twerton Park when they were homeless.

Don’t have a preference either way. Like all the West Country teams to do well (including Swindon Town (my closest team now I live in Wiltshire)).

It would be great for the city of Bristol for City to get promoted to the Premiership.

Cant wait for the year long witch hunt for the winning goal scorers family and the kids on the pitch to get their come uppance.

You'd think a city that size would have a prem team.

It has always struck me as odd. Bristol is the size of Edinburgh.

I put it down to rugby being so massive down here. All schools play rugby at school. Big rugby teams down here in the West Country with Bath, Bristol, Gloucester and Exeter.

Yes. Love it, especially with the white socks for some reason.

I agree, it’s a cracking strip. I always comment when I see it on TV but never realised it was Bristol City. Soon as you mentioned it it clicked that you must mean that one.

I was in Clevedon near Bristol last weekend and I get the impression that everything was rather Rugby focussed down those parts. My Brother-in Law is a Bristol City fan but rarely goes as he is too involved in rugby coaching.

Could have been another Manchester derby too. We could have seen if they are still closer than Bury or if they had closed the gap on City. Not to be 😁

they used to play in Bath (my home town) at Twerton Park when they were homeless.

Ah, Twerton Park, been there many times - sister lives in Bath and bro in law (man u fan 😂) has a ST for Bath City.

Now that's a real old school ground, crumbling terracing, smoking allowed, and a proper chip van at the gates.

Wasn't desperately impressed with the fitba but with tiny crowds, getting served a post match pint was easy !!

Edit - also the most polite football crowd ever. Barely a swear word uttered.
