Worst performance in a very, very long time. So much wrong it’s difficult to know here where to start. We look so toothless up front..we don’t work goalkeepers nearly enough. Defensively that was as bad as it gets..looked like a team of Primary school children...and Marciano is absolutely dreadful today again. Fair enough he couldn’t do much about the first, second he should save easily and the third although a shocking mistake by Efe..he stood rooted to the spot and never closed down the angle at all.

Few players been found out in this tricky spell of games imo.

I don't think we need to over-react. Good players, set up the right way have simply not done their jobs. You can't legislate for the kind of defending we've seen, shocking stuff.

In all likelihood this game is gone, it will be interesting to see what Lennon does in the second half.


Aberdeen have actually been the side who have impressed me most this season. We've never been outclassed by Celtic or Rangers but I thought Aberdeen were a few levels above us at Easter Road earlier this season. They didn't give us a sniff up front and they carved us open with a bit of quality the only time they tried to go forward. They've been miles better than us all over the park today. Their manager has got the upper hand tactically, their keeper has made a good save, their defence hasn't given us a sniff, we've toiled in midfield and torn our tentative defence to shreds.

Is it though? McGregor can be a good defender, but that’s his entire game. He’s by far and away the worst Hibs player on the ball, and is looking suspect/sluggish in defence at the moment.

I don't have a problem with him being purely a good defender. Wouldn't want the whole team being so one dimensional but I'm fine with two no nonsense Centre Backs whose range of passing is a two yard tap to a midielder.

That said - completely agree that Porteous looks excellent and of the three young lads around the first team squad I think he's comfortably the closest to being a regular starter. He's physically ready, his attitude is spot on and he feels like more of a goal threat than any of the other Centre Backs.

There is no way we should be getting beaten 4-0 by Aberdeen and certainly not with this kind of clueless performance.

We need a proper striker but much, much more importantly we need two full backs with pace. The lack of it in Stevenson and Whittaker is exposing us in defence and leaving us light going forward. We get less value from Boyle and Barker because we never double up on the opposing backs with a nippy full back of our own. The central defence is exposed and loses shape because we are constantly worrying about either of the full backs being beat for pace.
