Me, my grannie and my Auntie Agnes have set up the Beefster Cup Final Tickets Hibs Supporters Club. Anyone got any idea who I speak to to get priority on tickets (cup final only)?

Thanks in advance.

I'm going to nick this idea immediately but am going to call my branch West of Scotland FC supporters so that when we start the paggering there's no doubt who's to blame.

How does the ballot work though? firstly do Hibs have the computer system that can allocate in this way? Is it one ticket each and enter individually and I get drawn out first, my daughter 2500th and we sit miles apart. Apply for multiple tickets where do you draw the line at number you can apply for? How do you deal with concessions which are limited at Hearts? If you apply for a concession can you apply for as many other tickets to go with that as you like? If the concession applications exceed the tickets available do they get added to the main draw or have they lost out? One of the group I go with is 80 so is entitled to a concession. Can he apply along with 6 mates and go into a ballot with a far better chance of getting a ticket for all of the group?

The "fair" ballot may not turn out to be as fair as it would seem.

Lots of questions.

Hibs probably don’t have the IT.

Regarding split groups. If your daughter comes out of the ballot and her nominated adult (you) doesn’t, her ticket goes back in the pot. The system should allocate kids until concessions run out then allocate adult tickets.

The system will group people together if they are friends and family. So four mates and two kids might end up with 3 adults and 1 kids ticket, for example.

Hey I’m just making this up, but if I can make it up, there’s some programming that can make it so.

Maybe because the Club are dealing with it internally and it's sensitive information?

Then they could have done me the courtesy of a reply to that affect.

The time they’d take compiling a response costs money and I’m sure you’d agree you’d rather see that money spent on improving the squad? :greengrin

Given the time of year they are leaving it awfy late to put tickets on sale and leave enough time for ticket collection (can post be trusted this time of year)

Fans reps, any communications as to what and when the arrangements will be.

Given we are back at tynie, it shouldnt be impossible to ensure that people who want to are guaranteed a ticket for at least one of these games

Hibs do have the technology via Ticketmaster. It presumably comes with a cost but is used regularly by Tottenham and Man Utd and oddly enough Wigan. In the case of Wigan it was for their FA Cup game at AFC Fylde last week - I used to work there so was intrigued by it and asked much of the questions above; it’s pretty much a case on each application being treated on its own and that’s that. No allowance for a kid getting one and their parent not and vice versa. No automatic system for being sat together although it can be done in a bit of an ad hoc manner. Essentially from personal experience, clubs who operate these types of systems sell 99.9% of their allocation as adults as people know they won’t have a problem reselling an adult ticket if they get a ticket but none of their mates do etc. Certainly not a system that would suit Hibs as, regardless of our high ST sales, we aren’t in a position where we can readily annoy our season ticket holders.

From our personal point of view, I’m another who has been to plenty of poorly sold derby defeats in the past but got no idea when my next one will be in the current situation. At least with the loyalty points then I’d have a bit more of an idea where I stand, but so be it.

Going by today’s exclusives it wouldn’t surprise me if they’re still trying to work a way of playing at murrayfield.

I wonder if sales for the Hearts game is Hearts waiting to see if they can give us the whole away end. Seems safety reasons my see it reduced slightly going by the way fans exit together. This is just a theory of course prob way off but after all that’s gone on with that mob it wouldn’t shock me.

If our allocation is reduced this place will go into meltdown given the timing of the latest ticketgate scandal.

The online ticket stramash is murder. I missed out for Tiny last couple of occasions; missed out on Ibrox; had to get ticket for Celtc section adjacent to Hibs section for Parkead. Very low expectations of being successful this time.

All tickets should be only sold online from now on. 3000ish tickets going on sale online only you stand a better chance than a 50/50 split.

It's bonkers we still need to have people stood for hours in the middle of winter. Make it online/phone in advance then do it by ballot, if we're not having points scheme. Others clubs seem to manage it that way.

Rangers have a direct debit you enter for away tickets and people are picked out at random for each game(Think this is how it works anyway)

Celtic do ballots.

Only after the loyalty stuff's taking into account.

Was moaning about the potential hertz fiasco to a few colleagues (Home and away with Celtic) and for them to be eligible for Dundee away on boxing day they had to attend all 7 away games this season and 13 away games last season. If your eligible but don't take your ticket then the few spares may go to a ballot.

Scottish Cup rules require them to give us 20% of stadium capacity. Now if their new tram stop it closed down on safety issues then we wouldnt get whole of Roseburn, but near enough.

I'm pretty sure we would still get the whole Roseburn.

The 20% rule isn't set in stone, it can be altered on safety grounds. Having some Hearts fans in that stand and the rest being made up by Hibs fans wouldn't be something the police would be ecstatic about, considering they have already voiced concerns about various aspects regarding the safety of Tynecastle.

I'm confident we would get the whole Roseburn stand even if their main stand is closed down.

Best way to think about it then if you do get one you’ll be delighted!

I kinda like the lottery approach. Waiting till they go on sale, trying to login as quickly as possible, the excitement or frustration that follows etc etc.

Then it’s either brilliant I got one or damn I didn’t.

Either way it’s not the end of the world, there will be plenty other games and they’re always on telly anyways.

Good luck!!
