"Singing in Strathblane"?
Having seen both the early black and white version (with Findlay Currie) and the Gene Kelly colour version, there is no comparison.
Gene was right. The re-make should have been shot on location and not in the Hollywood studio using Kelloggs-Corn-Flakes-esque scenery. Absolutely dire movie from start to finish. An amateur dramatic club at the local church hall would have made a better job of it.
