Genuinely wondering if the rangers and Celtic have ever been drawn together in the 3rd / 4th round proper - when it is first free for all and any team can get anyone?!
Can never remember it happening , only in later stages... anyone know if it's ever happened?

Happened a couple of times this century.
Think they were both Celtic wins

3rd round in January 2005 was the last time. 2-1 for Celtic.

Cheers, at least it has happened before then - albeit not often !

Round 4 in 2002 and Round 3 in 1970. Both Celtic wins.
So - yeah - your first instinct was right. Only 3 time in last 47 years.
Before any one thinks my memory is wonderful, www.fitbastats.com is a great resource to find these things out:greengrin:thumbsup:
