Who would be our best over 35s XI...?

Jim Leighton in goals surely? Or Budgie?

Joe McLaughlin was 39 when he signed! What a player!

Sauzee must've been 35+ by the time he finished!

Ray Wilkins pulling the strings!

Brewster banging in the goals!

Wouldn't have him pulling pints.

If it was a "wear a blue t-shirt and wave at the Rangers fans" competition then Ray Wilkins might feature. If it was to be a game of football he could f right off.

Mixu - played very well for us to a good old age.

Grant Holt did a great shift for us last year.

I liked Alan Maybury. Solid, disciplined player who gave us everything he had. Ok, he was old and slow and it was a bit less than we really needed but I'll always have respect for what he gave us as a Hibs player.

Sure I went to a league cup match and Mark Venus strolled it. It was away at some dump right when Mowbray got appointed.

Could be wrong though.

Gordon Smith and Arthur Duncan. Two legends without doubt. Still playing for Hibs at 35.

Might be wrong but I think Budgie is the oldest ever to play for Hibs. He was definitely in his 40s.

George Best SEEMED old by the time he signed for Hibs but he was only in his early 30s.

And to think that Smith went on to win 2 more Championship medals with ‘Them’ and Dundee before retiring aged 40, the word legend doesn’t do him justice. Only player to achieve that feat - winning Championships at 3 different clubs - OUTWITH THE OLD FIRM!!!

Phenomenal achievement.

You’re right. He is the oldest - so far. Budgie was 41 (and a bit) when he played his last game for us.

Best was 33/34 when with us.

Does a certain Eamonn Bannon count for his single appearance aged aboot 35?
