Back to Man Utd I reckon, if he does indeed leave, might be a bit of a play to get a new lucrative contract out of Madrid.

It can`t be a coincidence that this announcement comes out just as the Real Madrid of Scotland prepare to return to their spiritual home?
Think us Hobos are going to be put right in our place when Ronaldo leads the famous out onto the Tinycastle pitch or should I say New Bernabeu!:greengrin

As soon as Real Madrid give him a hug and make him feel that he's way more special that all the other players, he'll stop sulking and take the extra money.

Watch the next statement come out from his agent saying he’s really happy at Madrid and this is all nonsense!

Where behind the scenes the agent will be telling Madrid he wants more cash. Sure we’ve seen this before with him.

It's probably not about the money in terms of actual cash value. It's more about the money paid being used as an indicator of who is the best player in the world - i.e. it's an ego trip. That said, if you thought you were the best player in the world, would you want to be the best paid player in the world?
Personally, I'm not that self-centred however, some folk are, and that's fine.

£40 million maybe, which would be recouped by shirt sales alone.

Do you think Real would accept £40 million though? I don't think so and think he will end up being priced out of a move and end up having to stay in Madrid.

Nobody will pay that for a 32 year old; not even PSG - or would they?

it wouldn't just be £40m though, If as others have said is true and hes on £2m a month in wages and has a contract that will keep him there for another 3 years they'd save another £72m in wages. (ball park figure of £2m over 36 months)

I do agree though, they're not exactly scraping the bottom of the biscuit tin for cash and would more than likely price out a move as an act of we are the biggest club in the world posturing.

Either way ludicrous money involved for kicking a ball around.

His buy out clause is a BILLION euros lol €€€. Now I'm not saying Real are gonna want that but let's say they want £80 million or €100 million, who's gonna pay that? PSG maybe at a push but if it ain't PSG then it aint gonna be anyone else. Do people really think Man U would pay anything near that for him. The interesting thing about it all is, IF Ronaldo goes to PSG, will Neymar end up in Madrid cause that's the rumour going about.

We could of signed him for 150k a couple of years ago, but Rod wouldn't splash the cash instead we signed Kajabi on a freebie. That is a FACT!

Except Kajabi wanted £800 a week so we signed a counterfeit called Kujabi instead. Kajabi really was the Gambian Roberto Carlos. We found Kujabi working in Argos but he was much cheaper.

Man Utd just might!

It's all ego and telephone numbers at the top of the football food chain, utterly ridiculous. PSG crowing about how much they paid for Neymar.

Ronaldo has already built a museum to himself. Maybe he plans to buy the moon and carve CR7 into it because he's tired of people looking at it when they could be looking at pictures of him instead.

Making £100m back on a player that's 33 in February and who is not looking quite as stellar?

I've got no idea tbh, I don't even know why I said it. :greengrin I have no idea how much you can make from shirt sales/the fan fare from bringing in a player like that but the shirt sales/hype surrounding it would be huge and i'm sure they'd make a pretty penny out of it. Add to that they'd still be getting a player who would be the best in the league and they'd maybe not make the money back but I think they'd be able to justify it.

Add in the £25million a year contract and we are talking £150million for a 2 year deal. Genuinely don't see anyone other than PSG going for that and even then, I'm not convinced.

If he goes it'll be for £10m-£20m I think. If he's not playing well for Real then they'll probably be happy to free up a wage.

I would also guess that ManU is more likely than PSG.

I’ll bet you £10-20m he goes for way over that. People forget Ronaldo isn’t just a player it’s a brand. Shirt sales alone world wide would almost cover any transfer fee. He’s now way more than a footballer and clubs know this.

This is my thinking. Ronaldo as a player for 2 years is probably worth £50m or so alone. Never mind everything else that comes with him. If any team was to get him for south of about £70m in todays market I'd say they're getting a bargain.

Totally, no chance he would go under £50m. Be nearer £90m maybe more!
