I really liked Farid, injuries prevented him from being a huge success at Easter Road.

His goal on his debut against Livingston followed up by his half volley at hearts showed he had it. But sadly worse luck than Dylan for injuries.

His goal against hearts at easter road is up there as one of my favourite derby goals. It was the first time my son saw us beat them and the look on his face as Farid chipped in the second will live with me forever.

Derby specialist.

Then again, most of our current squad are.

Was the injury sustained at Alloa not a different one to the one that did him in?

The Alloa injury was a particularly nasty one, a snapped achilles.

But I thought the majority of his problems were associated with a chronic knee injury which has never really healed?

Saw Farid this morning at The Gyle. He came round to our match briefly and handed out flyers for box soccer to the kids and coaches. Nice guy.
