Ex Hearts player died aged 49. No age at all. RIP

Played 50 odd games for Hearts in the late Nineties.

Was shocked when I seen this on Twitter this morning. 49 is nothing. Very sad.

He was a very decent player for them and played his part in ending their trophy hoodoo. He used to spend a bit of time in Edinburgh until recently and I spoke to him in a pub about 2 or 3 years ago, seemed a nice guy and was happy to talk football.

49 is no age at all, RIP.

He was a very good player, the sort of quality that could be attracted to Scottish league 20 years ago, unthinkable now.

Great player and fondly remembered by Jambos of my age (and other ages as well I suspect)

Far too young.

Sad. So young. In the end Hearts paid his wages. We all need to earn a Livi g.

Sad and shocking news. A well known name in the 90's and by all accounts a very good guy.

Ridiculously young to go. Won a few medals with AC Milan as a youth player too.

They've only recently lost Stephane Paille, another player from that era.

Rivalry goes out the window when it comes to things like this. Far too young :-(

That's exactly what I thought when heard the news this morning, two professional footballers of a similar age, that played for the same team, die months apart, tragic stuff, similar age to me too!

Sad news indeed. He’s that young I can remember of him playing for Hearts when I was a laddie.

Horrible news. Was sad to read it this morning. He was part of a good Hearts team. Probably one of the best of ‘my generation’.

Played at the same time that I started to take a proper interest in football and his era forms part of my earliest memories.

Regardless of which team he played for, it's extremely tragic. 49 is no age at all.

Met him a few times used to book his flights. Always a pleasure to speak to open and honest had some good laughs when he found out I supported Hibs and I told him there was a hearts supplement of 10 pounds for each flight.

condolences to his family such a sad loss at only 49
