I was in the lower section at the far away end from the strike and it looked bloody close to me, anyone have a definite view of it?

I didn't think it was

Yeah, I thought he timed his run perfectly but would like to see it again.

I was top tier right at the front in the middle. I dont think he was offside.

Looked like he was level with the defender from row R over the far side in the lower

Certainly well finished. But he looked onside.

I wasn't there, but judging by what everyone says on this thread I don't think it was offside:na na:

Great result.

BBC gave the scorer as Boyle. Still says him.:dunno:

Boyle did score the goal. Murray had an effort chalked off in the second half for offside but it looked very close. I thought he was on as well.

I was at that side about halfway up the lower.
I didn't think he could be offside, I never even looked towards the linesman.

Finished it well too. Think the Well defence were as surprised as anyone to see the flag.

Didn't look off viewing from behind the goal, but the TV pictures will clear it up. Referee was poor today - you know you've had a stinker when both sets of fans are howling at you.

I was in the main stand and IMO he was offside. He should easily have been able to hold his run...should have been 2-0 but he's a bit raw but will learn. Great 3 points though :flag:

Usually quite hard to tell from behind the goals so it must’ve been a really bad error based on how convinced so many are.

The main stand stops /25 yards out. You probably had the assistants view as he was behind play. He was on.

The match replay is now available on Hibs TV and it is hard to tell because of the camera angle and one of the defenders is off camera as the pass is played but it looks very close to being onside. What happened to giving the attacking team the benefit of the doubt? Would have been nice as a 2 goal win would have taken us above them.

It's 13 mins 11 seconds into the 2nd half replay.

Very close but the right back might be playing him on.

Assuming there was nobody else out of shot, I'd say Murray was about a foot offside. In any case, the keeper stopped playing when the ref whistled.

Yes I was in the main stand and he looked offside at the time, but not seen the highlights yet.

I think it's too close to call from that angle.

I'm still undecided after seeing it too.

Def onside! Clear from sportscene.

It's really tight. Simon's so quick off the mark in general that he could very well be just onside as John McGinn releases the ball and if he's offside he's just offside and no more.

My heart says he's on; my head acknowledges he probably looked off to the assistant.

The boy's greased lightning - I think he was probably onside.

Final answer - onside. :scarf::scarf::scarf:

But as tight as that I don't think we can blame the assistant for flagging.

I’ve looked at it on tv and he is definitely onside as SJM passes the ball. Thought so at the game just confirmed it. He’s more onside than GMS was the other week.

Looks even more onside here and the balls already traveled 3 yards. Bear in mind he is running and not standing still

Looks like his feet are, but his body leaning forward probably doesn't help. Thankfully it didn't matter this time, but would've been nice to win it by a couple. Just watched the highlights, other than the great block by whitty, it was all us I thought, again could and shouldve scored a couple more with Barker's chance and McGinn's one at the end where he couldve rolled it to Dave

Arthur Duncan used to get flagged offside when he wasn't and that was because he was so quick off his mark.

Looking at that picture, I agree with you - Simon was onside. :agree:

Hard to say so the decision should be on - benefit to the attacking player.
