Was listening to Talksport earlier this evening, I'm sure I heard them say Harry Redknapp has thrown his name into the mix for the Scotland job.

I'd hope we'd no even consider him. He'd be brutal.

No thanks. Media darling who doesn't have the history of success as a manager to warrant it. Won the FA cup at Portsmouth but was also the manager that managed to bankrupt them

I'd prefer Harry Worth. He was an English comic as well with nearly as much success as a football manager as Redknapp.

The manager doesn't pay the clubs bills.

He was a decent manager and he put the building blocks in place for Spurs current success IMO. I think he is a bit past it now though.

Might not pay the bills but he does generate a huge amount of transfer activity.I wonder why?

To keep his dog in the lifestyle it had become accustomed???

One of the worst managers I can ever imagine. He’s a crook and he’d be useless without cash.

I would rather have his dog at least he is trying to read and write.

Does he realise there's no transfer window ?

Why don't we try an up and coming manager like Alex Neil.

I for one am sick and tired of the same old duds.

no ta, 'arry or his dug rosie, although he could maybe advise the crooks at the SFA how to hide monies, then again maybe the crooks at the SFA could advise him

Yep, listening to the SportSound podcast yesterday and he indeed said he’d be interested if asked. Doesn’t think he will be, but said ‘it would be an exciting job, so yeah, of course I would be’

No doubt he'd be one of the worst candidates available, along with David Moyes.

I full expect the SFA to interview both of them. And probably appoint them as some kind of "managerial dream team"

Yep, same as a lot of managers that want to keep their name in the spotlight and clubs or countries that want to boost their profile with "star" managers that show their supporters that they are branching out. If Harry Redknapp is the next Scotland manager then I will eat my left thumb.

Would rather we appointed Ian Cathro than Redknapp

He's a charming old chap but it wouldn't work and I don't want the Scotland job to become just another anecdote in Harry's after-dinner repertoire.

You'd be as well with Terry Butcher.

The problem with that is that the 1st decent offer they get back in club football sees them jump ship and the process starts again.

I'd still look abroad.

I don't think a foreign manager has the mindset for the Scotland job. We just do not play the continental way or have their class of players. Need someone Scottish and motivated. God forbid another Berti Vogts.

I don’t care where the manager is from. I just want someone who doesn’t think that the English leagues are the only place outside Celtic that can provide players for the national team. As for Harry, I like him, but I don’t think he’s what we need right now.

Are you pissed already? You know he's not allowed to sign players for Scotland?

And with that fatalistic attitude, we'll never progress anywhere on the international stage. The 100 mph "up and at 'em" approach demonstrably doesn't work anymore.

We need precisely someone who'll adapt the "Scottish way of playing" for the 21st century.

So for me, it's look abroad as well.

If he gets the job, what little interest I have in the national team will vanish.

Was berti vogts not the last scotland manager to reach the playoffs?

Having worked down in Portsmouth for a year, I heard many stories about Redknapp and none of them were good.

He can bugger off.
