You were referring to the African footballer because of the financial irregularities. Try harder. Don’t make me laugh. And I take offence because I know that being African has got nothing to do with anything. A ***** footballer is a ***** footballer. A crook is a crook. We have more than enough crooks in Scotland and it isn’t because they’re Scottish, that singles them out.

It’s the African bit that bothers my sensible, decent self, not laughing at the Yams. My wife could be a Jambo too, but as it is the ‘Famous’ who are the object of derision, don’t bring Africans into it. Maybe I’m being over sensitive, but I know fine well if people are making ignorant remarks that might upset any African Hibs Fans. I wouldn’t want my young son (a proud African born Hibee) to see fans of the team he supports thinking it was okay to make derisory remarks about those of half a billion he shares a continent with. I’m fortunate to have travelled all over Africa and feel I have some sympathy for people there. Is that so hard to understand?

As Hibees, we have rivalries with Hearts and banter is fair game, of course. Call it a personal thing, but I wouldn’t normally speculate and comment on areas I don’t know or understand or on places I haven’t been. Don’t believe half the news I read, either, call me cynical. That’s all I’m going to say on this. Plenty of humour in the Yams, just your words (not you personally) and others need called out for the lazy, ignorant views buried in the humour.

**** me, can we just go back to laughing at Hearts. Every thread these days seems to go this way it’s getting ridiculous. If people are easily offended I suggest the internet isn’t the place to be.

Did you know copper wire was invented by two Scotsman fighting over a penny... Is that offensive?

Anyway get it right up Hearts 😁

I’m all for getting it right up hearts.

I just find it bizarre that people are bringing up humpty African players in a thread about Hearts being defrauded. It seems like lazy racist stereotyping. People can be racist without realising it and calling it out shouldn’t be criticised.

**** sake 😂😂

Hearts signed a Nigerian Footballer on big money on a 3 year deal and released him this year. The African player and his agent took the utter **** out of hearts and it costs them thousands. I apologise said player wasn't Italian and when they do similar and release that French bald guy Theyngave a 3 year deal to also I'll laugh.

You are trying far too hard to be offended in my opinion. You are the one also with the personal insults that I'm not even going to respond to. Cheerio

Have Hibs not been scammed yet?

Obviously Hibs are too wee to be worth scamming.

Only big clubs like Hearts and Hamilton are worth the trouble!

Just ask Lee Wallace, he's bound to say who done it!

My two initial thoughts;

1 - Karma's a bitch
2 - Shocking potential for a much needed fund-raising bake sale...

Have we read the statement correctly. That looks like an admission of guilt. How many STs have been sold again?

Although this is good to hear and also hilarious it has happened to them, but if it’s proved to be a scam, I’m guessing there will be insurance that will cover it? Maybe? (Hope not)

Has anyone had a stab about what form this scam took? Is it possible we too could be scammed but have not yet noticed it? From the description it looks like Hamilton may have been a victim over quite a lengthy period

If it was long term, maybe some sort of insurance scam.

Couuld be a simple matter of sending in spurious, but authentic looking, invoices for work done or equipment supplied.

If the accounts dept isn't on the ball they pay these without checking.

They’re saying it was an online scam, but I’ve heard from a reliable source that someone nicked the cow.

There seems to be a scam doing the rounds where people are persuaded to give remote access to their computer to a caller. The caller is well practiced at pretending to be calling from seemingly authentic well known company and wants to make a refund deposit to the recipient’s bank account. The caller is armed with personal details of the recipient, presumably obtained from a previous hack. The person opens their internet banking in order to allow the transfer of funds to happen and creates the BACS link. Immediately the link is made, money is drained from the recipient’s account.

No idea if this is what happened to Hamilton orbHearyabbut it is certainly just one of the scams happening right now. Be warned.

I hope not; but scamming is a big industry, there is more going on than most people know about.
This is often because the victims are too embarrassed to own up, and banks - if they are involved - do not want to have their reputations damaged.

It is not just stupid people who get taken in - clever people do too. A lot of legal companies have been caught out and scammed into transferring mortgage money they were holding into the wrong account.

I know of a guy, a clergyman no less, who paid out £30,000 chasing an elusive 'Spanish lottery jackpot'.

The bit that makes me smile is that wee Annie made her fortune in IT.

Owned a business which contracted IT specialists out as far as I am aware.

Looks like whoever is in charge of the Hawrts IT is not up to scratch.

Karma.

That's a lot of cakes to make up £80,000 and what about all those poor unfortunates denying their kids Christmas presents to donate to the cause, just so that they can see their 80 grand floating down the Water of Leith?

Pleasing.
