we all know they cant afford him, but being the disillusioned bigots they are, they wont!

They will start just before the January transfer window and unsettle him in the same slimy way they did Scott Allan.

Disgusting creatures!

Are these stories not usually written by folk who have very little grasp of the game up here? We are not going to sell a prize asset to The Rangers and The Rangers do not have the money.

Pretty much, it’s basically folk trying to make out The Rangers can still compete with Celtic or even the rest. Fans will no doubt fall for it as they really are a different kettle of fish that lot. They then think all is rosy while all along McGinn was never once linked to them.

So basically, rangers need SJM to leave hibs cause he's better than everyone they got so what they're gonna do is "declare" an interest even though we know they've no cash to sign him but it'll make enough noise for other teams down south to take an interest.

Make it an auction. Please. Would help us entice Moult and Hendo I reckon:-)

I personally think the story is made up pure and simple, bookies can cover themselves with odds and that is where the story most likely had its basis.

Article even says how many goals he has scored, yet calls him a goal machine.

The fact the odds start at 8/1 and theres around 20 teams between that and 12/1 means that they know absolutely nothing. BetVictor must still think Rangers are a big club.

Last Saturday should give him the confidence and belief that he can contribute a healthy goal tally. To be fair, he is not shy in having a pop from distance, but guilty of some wild efforts at times. A bit more composure like he showed at Celtic and he will be pouring them in regularly. Not a hope in hell he'll be doing it in Rangers jersey though :faf:

Super McGinn will go in January for me and I guess it's almost moving on time for him too,
Don't sell cut price get Hendo and some money. Right into the playing squad for a change. Would love to know that the fans rep will be pushing that McGinn doesn't end up like a brown or Thommo. Sold and replaced with utter pap.

I notice Aston Villa made a net gain of £6M in the summer window and also spent £2M on 33-year old Glenn Whelan.

Good to know they have the money then. £5M will be no problem. If they don't pay up, bolt.

Rangers have more chance of signing one of my subbuteo Hibs players than they have picking up SJM and my lads start at £1.5 million.*

* beat celtic 6-0 tonight in a pre runner for tomorrow. They played in Liverpools kit because I actually havent actually got a Celtic team, they looked very very very tired after their midweek exploits in Germany. Scotty Browns bostik held up well though and he made it through the game although SJM effectively tortured him, so much so Amnesty International will have a new case on Monday.

Surprised nobody is talking about him after today’s performance, was absolutely superb imo.

That break and run that lead to brown being booked was different class.

Mcgeouch motm for me but Mcginn one of a few contenders as well, he’ll be going for a lot of money soon I think.

Thought he was excellent second half.

Easy to say he needs to take control in these games but this wasn’t Alloa or Dumbarton he was up against, his job was to be the legs and the energy in midfield and I personally think he offered that plus a he’ll of a lot more. It was Mcgeouchs job to ‘control’ the game and he was able to do that due largely to Mcginn and Bartley in the first half.

This isn’t a dig at you as everyone’s entitled to their opinion but I think there’s a danger of people expecting too much from him. I’d love to hear Scott Browns opinion on John Mcginn today.

We should take a good offer in January and send him onwards.
Slivka is a great replacement when he is played in the middle where John plays, the money will help improve the squad as a whole

Slivka hasn’t shown enough to be considered as a replacement for sjm. He hasn’t got the dig or the drive that McGinn has. Losing a McGinn would weaken our team. Having said that I do like Slivka, I just don’t see him as a replacement for McGinn.

but we all think he should be going for a lot of money if/when we sell him, if we expect big money then he needs to show it in games like this one, if a scout came to see him for the first time today there is no way he would have left with a glowing report

Mcginn would be a huge loss to the squad and there isn’t an obvious affordable replacement, even if we were to get big bucks for him.

I understand why NL plays Slivka out wide at the moment and he does a job for the team there. He was much better when Boyle came on and he moved more central. He's a proper footballer who is prepared to play out of position for the benefit of the team. That's a good sign IMHO. If he moves into a more central position permanently I'm sure we will see more from him.
