Some of their fans were hoping to sever the yam connection as well, be interesting to see how that one goes.

East Stirling are a better club anyway.

I think in Falkirk the word resources is always spelled RESOURCES! in capitals with a mandatory exclamation mark

Yup but that was before he discovered he had nuts ! When he played for us the opposition knew to hard-tackle him early and after that he'd go missing - which he did in almost every single game !

Yip he was pretty mince for us but became a very dynamic midfielder for Hearts; a bit of a Darren Jackson type who you’d love if in your team but hate if in the opposing team. To be fair to PH he played the pantomime villain very well...

Don't give them the credit for that. It was at St Johnstone that he converted from an intermittently effective winger into a midfielder. Billy Stark's reckoned to be the man that spotted unrealised potential.

I thought he was OK for us as a super sub right wing. He scored a cracker of a goal once too against Dunfermline I recall.

My mate played for the same Accies youth team as Hartley. He couldn't believe that he was a winger when he was breaking through as he'd always been a superb dynamic central midfielder in the youth teams.

Wonder how this will affect Falkirks youth set up.

Hartley got rid of the youth at Alloa and didn't do much for the youth at Dundee.

I remember hearing that

I sure I read that he had one of the biggest budgets in the SPL when he was in Dundee

It's nice that the Falkirk fans will get to continue their love affair with jambo managers complaining about finances

Can't see that he would have had a big budget - would have been more than Partick, ICT etc less than Dundee United ...probably slightly north of Motherwell. Losing his top strikers at the same time was always going to be a big ask ..his records stands up with most of his generation..expect him to do a decent job

Was apportioning credit anywhere tbh, more just pointing out the change from the player that left us to the one he became :flag:

I don't mind Hartley tbh. It just clicked for him at hearts and he went on to be successful for them then Celtic.

Always took the banter well with us I felt, unlike that wee rat basturd Skacel

I don't mind him either. He gave 100% when he played for Hibs but was too easily muscled off the ball.

As mentioned previously, it was when he was at St Johnstone that he really "came good".
