Press and Journal reporting that Aberdeen got an initial 1,900 tickets, then another 400 (presume that’s a block)
Not sure what blocks that gives them

We must have sold around 2300 to Aberdeen then in south plus around 400 to hibs fans so far
leaving around 1100 left in south and in total
meaning around 19200 sold before walk ups?

Not really, they cant check who is on the database at the pods and with this being a cat 'A' game and Aberdeen looking like they will sell all the tickets they have been given they wont want to take the chance of Sheep in the Hibs sections of the south. If the game had been a few years ago there would have been room for everybody and they probably would have sold at the pods.

From a club point of view it must be great to find themselves in this position :aok:

:agree: ... lol, so you would ...... but so far as I know Aberdeen long with the ugly sisters and Yams has always been cat 'A' since they started giving games designations, in the case of Aberdeen I think the designation is more related to the size of their away support compared to other clubs and the possibility of trouble at the match being higher than normal rather than the price folk would be willing to pay to see us play them.

Seems to me the cops cant wait to park that thing. We must be the only club in the world that keep the home fans behind and let the away fans leave. The fans reps should meet the Police and demand that changes. Keep them back FFS.

Its more to do with geography around ER, there could be clashes on Bothwell street and ER itself if we all leave at the same time, especially if the game has been really controversial or the result hasn't gone our way. Away fans leaving first gives the police more control.

Perhaps there are no tickets on sale tomorrow as they know the ticket office staff will have their hands full dealing with a large queue of fans picking up tickets for the semi final next week.

£6.50 postage probably means that more people than usual will be planning to collect before tomorrow’s game.

I thinks it's more to do with Bothwell bridge...away fans don't leave first, there is simply a diversion of some of the Hibs support away from Albion Road / Bothwell Bridge to avoid congestion and allow easier egress for the south and west stands.

Its the time they take that pisses me off (always has)

My dad really struggles with his walking now even getting from the west to meadowbank retail park where we park on his disabled badge - if they make us wait / walk round, then I suspect he might call it a day (for the big matches anyway).

Might have to collar a plod en route tomorrow to find out if they intend doing it post match.

What is the reasoning for making available only half of section 27?

I assume they have maybe gave Aberdeen 4 of the upper blocks and 3 of the bottom meaning only half of 27 available to hibs fans to avoid oposition fans being directly above? or for the segregation line.

I think there allocation is 2,300 about 2/3 of the stand so would make sense.

Actually, there was just over 19k tickets sold, it's not the actual attendance.

From my view in the South, I would have thought roughly one third of the FF Lower seats were empty, which is quite incredible. I couldn't see the East properly but the West Stand was very full.

Do sheep eat hot food?

Maybe change the after shave?

Over 19k tickets sold is still a great achievement even if only 17k attended

Yes - Including away fans and ST seats number sold was just over 19K but in reality, I’d guesstimate there was only 17-18K actually in attendance today.

From my seat in West Upper, the empty seats in FF were as obvious as those in the East, so quite clearly some of those who are ST holders weren’t there and I respect their reasons for doing so. Not sure if West was completely “sold out”. Seat next to me was empty. I usually is!!

Also in the East a fair few of the seats at the North and South ends were empty and I’d have thought these would be less likely to be ST seats - no? So if they were “walk up” purchases why the hell were they not there? It’s a conundrum I don’t have the answer to.

Actually, there was just over 19k tickets sold, it's not the actual attendance.

From my view in the South, I would have thought roughly one third of the FF Lower seats were empty, which is quite incredible. I couldn't see the East properly but the West Stand was very full.

I am in the West Lower and it was clear that at least a third of the seats in the FF Lower were empty today. That has been the case all season so far and it seems clear that these are "phantom" seats, i.e. Concessions bought for £25 for kids that will never attend with a view to securing priority for big games. Will be interesting to see how many of these seats are occupied on the 24th.

well its either that or we dont sell the seats at all. How many celtic season ticket holders dont show up to games? Dont think were any worse than others

Not sure why folk get so hung up on whether season ticket holders attend or not. There will always be some who can't make it for whatever reason and it's their right

Nobody who wanted a ticket for yesterday missed out going. They had until 1pm yesterday to get a ticket - it wasn't as if it was sold out weeks ago

He's also saying there's no hot food available at half-time. Very poor if that's the case.

That is poor. We’d be unhappy if that was the case as well. The caterers knew how many were going to the match, a few days in advance

They had to remove mutton pies from the menu yesterday.

Totally agree, I love the fact that we have such a large number of both ticket sales and attendances, It just surprised me that so many were empty, which seems to be a regular occurrence, not just during a holiday week.

Oh and I know all about buying Season Tickets from overseas, I've been doing that for the last 5 years. But I try to buy them for people that will actually use them though

It’s the ones that buy kids ones, so they can get a cup final ticket who are the problem. I’m aware of quite a few of them

I bought 4 kids tickets last season for use by the club for underprivileged kids not to get cup final tickets I used my own season ticket for that even although I couldn't use the season ticket myself

Greedy and selfish. If there are those who do this, donate them to a kid that would use it. Maybe the kicks for kids scheme could come to an arrangement whereby donators retain cup final ticket rights

You can't buy cheap kids ticket without at least one adult, I can see some people will buy additional kids tickets for kids who won't attend regularly, or even at all, but this alleged scam of loads of people guaranteeing cup final tickets (for who?) by buying cheap kids tickets is a myth.

I think the team has to get to cup finals to begin with & good as we have been cup-wise, I'm also not too sure many folk would spend £70 quid
on the off-chance of a final ticket.
My grandson's seat was one of the empties yesterday, he called off at the last minute. Forgot to tell him he won't be getting to any cup final we get to.
