It will be decent, this isnt Hibs of old, look at the number of season ticket holders we have, look at our current average gates. Im not saying we will sell out but it will be a good turn out Im sure.

Sure its on tv and at lunchtime but its in Glasgow not outer space, its an hour away(for most of you lucky sods) and a great chance to test ourselves against the best team in Scotland at the moment. Im really looking forward to it.

I'll go for 35000 attendance.

Similar attendance to Aberdeen semi from us so about 17-18K Hibbies. Celtic will sell their 20K or so then add in corporates etc and we'll see over 40K attendance.

I wouldn't be surprised to see us get quite close to selling out. There are several factors working against that: it's 'only' a League Cup semi-final; it's a lunchtime kick off with TV coverage; a game against Celtic, where we are huge underdogs, might put some off bothering. Time will tell I guess.

Slightly different circumstances.

It was our first game back at Hampden after THAT game, we were going for "two in a row", it was the Scottish Cup as opposed to the League Cup and we were playing Aberdeen and not Celtic and that will put some people off.

And without the Celtic fans. 400,000 of them fighting for just 90,000 tickets.

They would certainly easily sell 16,000 tickets for Wembley if you include their 14,000 season ticket holders #huge

Semi Finals rarely sell out but it should be a decent attendance.

I'd be surprised if Hibs have less than 15k at the game.

When they played Ross County at the same stage two years ago, the total attendance was 22,000.

Here's hoping you're right - but the 8k (Hibs) attendance for a home, non televised Quarter Final leaves me doubtful.

However, matters not a bit to me. I'll be there.

That was two years ago though and they were stuck in an incredibly dull period under Delia. Bit like comparing our league attendances under Butcher to now. They are absolutely buzzing under Rodgers and will sell all their tickets in a day or two.

No chance. Absolute joke that they have their own end. Despite being the home team there's also every chance we'll be in our away strip seeing as Celtic decided to bring out three green strips this season [emoji849][emoji849][emoji849]

It just pisses me off how them and their other arse cheek always get to have their own end at a neutral national stadium.

It's a nonsense. Do Manchester Utd and Liverpool have their own ends at Wembley?

Not just semis, I can only recall us beating them in cup ties 3 times, 2 of which were in the same season.

And 300.000 would have been locked out;-)
Must be great being famous !

With early KO time and live TV coverage, if we sell out our allocation, i will be a very proud Hibernian.
The upcoming League game against the other team that wear the green may be a factor.

1985/86 beat them in both cups, pens after 4-4 in LC and 4-3 in SC, both at ER.

The fact that it's on TV should be irrelevant. TV is for neutrals.

I've never watched a Hibs match live on TV in my 61 years. Mind you I've never watched any other match live either.

Guess that makes folk like me just auld fashioned Hibs supporters rather than football fans or uber fans 🤓

You've never watched a scotland game on tv? Or an fa cup final or a world cup final?

Aplogies if I'm reading that post wrong.

If not, and you're in a boozer and a match comes on do you just drink up quickly and leave? It must have taken a fair bit of effort to avoid watching live football on TV for the last 25 or so of those 61 years :greengrin

Forgive me if I've misunderstood. You're 61 and have never watched a match live on the TV? Scotland in the 74,78,82,86, 90 and 98 world cups? The Internationals v England? You've not witnessed the likes of Zidane, Pele, Cruyff, Maradona and Messi as they happened? Dalglish?
Brazil in any World Cup? Holland? Argentina? You were 14 in 1970..... Is it not the case you just don't have a telly and are more auld fashioned than anyone still alive?

If it helps I only go to pubs to watch bands otherwise I go to alt clubs. Which don't show TV football at the same time.

But you're right. I'm definitely a weirdo having only ever watched Hibs matches where played, my laddie Cammy's games and TV highlights over the years.

Still not sure why (apart from finances, family and work commitments) why a supporter would bump attending a Hibs Cup semi in the Hampden atmosphere for a pub tv. But as I've never experienced the latter, maybe I'm missing out? 😁

Nobody called you a weirdo. It just seems hard to believe that you've never ever watched a game of football live on tv. Fair play to you for your commitment to attending games as much as you do, each to their own and all that :aok:

I'd never watch the Hibs on telly if I can be at the game. Like you.

Couple of questions though to a fellah not that far removed from my age, and that also likes his music. And if your age is right you were born in 1956, reaching drinking age about 72-74.

You've missed three of probably the finest World Cup sides in Brazil 70, Holland 74 and Argentina 78?
Did you seriously never see any of those epic Scotland ties in the 74 -98 World Cups live on the telly?
You've never watched Scotland v England live on the telly?
You've successfully avoided watching about 40 European Cup Finals live on the telly?
You never see a Scottish Cup Final unless Hibs are in it and you're there?

Edinburgh gigs just aren't that frequent mate.

As an adult I've hardly ever watched a whole game live on TV to be honest, a few Hibs games, few more Scotland games, of course regularly I've been in pubs when games have been on and seen some of the action, but rarely been 'watching' the game as such, any more than 'listening' to the background music.
