Has anyone got an update on his recovery from operation and the chances of him signing ?

We may have won the last 2 games if Commons had been playing.

I'd like him in the squad.

That's a massive stretch of the imagination is it not. We may have also have won them if A.n.other was playing.

He's very creative and he can score. Exactly what we've been missing.

I don't feel stretched at all.

I'm not saying you have to agree, but I think he'd add significant quality to the squad.

I second the cheese vote. But only if the cheese doesn't have a chronic back injury. Then it's chalk.

My feelings on Commons are that he's probably finished. He's been out for a long time and would take even more time to get up to match sharpness which we really can't afford in this division. If he was fit and match sharp I'd take a punt but he's not kicked a ball since playing for us in the Championship.

If he was match fit and not recovering from an operation, then we may have won. Or we may have lost, although I'll concede the former is more likely.

But he isn't match fit and is still recovering from an operation, so I don't see how he could help us.

If he feels able to carry on playing then I would love him to sign with us.

The injury appears to have been such a debilitating one though and I wouldn't be surprised if he calls it a day.

Poor example to use in that case and I'll say cheese to your remark anyway. :na na:

I see little point jumping on bandwagons when everyone is agreeing and saying the same thing i.e. chalk.

Having been in Perth there's no doubt for me commons would shoot or pick a pass to Murray when faced with swansons situation near full time when Danny dithered and it all petered out.
No food puns required.
If he's fit then sign him up as he makes a match winning difference

Commons of 3 years ago would. And faced with the same decision I'm sure he would now aswell. However having been out so long I'm not sure he's got any form of mobility left whatsoever, he maybe wouldn't even find himself in that situation anymore.

I'd get him in and have a look at him. If NL thinks he's something to offer then sign him. If not then I'm not fussed.

I wouldn't write him off yet - from 2 September -

Kris Commons says he is nearing a decision on whether to resume playing following an operation on his back this summer. The former Celtic attacker enjoyed a brief spell on loan at Hibs last season and has indicated he is likely to re-join Neil Lennon’s side if he can return to full fitness. He said: “It’s eight weeks since I had my back operation. I am just upping my rehabilitation with the facilities at Celtic; they’re letting me use their treadmill, bikes and physiotherapy. “Hopefully within the next ten days to two weeks I’ll be back outside running and changing direction, and hopefully lacing up my boots again. “And that will be the true test as to whether I can play football again or not.”

Still building up his fitness, doubt well see him until around December time, working hard on his media profile but that's all for future reference, his number one aim is to continue playing, I'd expect us to sign him until the end of the Season and if his back holds up and the club feel hes worth it we'll take him on for the full season next year.

Would be a great role model for the likes of Fraser Murray imo. Although he never ran the show when he was on loan last season, he was just there when we needed him with some big goals, especially the Falkirk one.
