Is this not an old story about Jinki Johnstone going out in a rowing boat from Largs the day before a Scotland International match?

Was he trying to recreate an episode from Still Game?

Apparently he was bevvied and got into (or was on the outskirts of) some kind of altercation and chose to extract himself from it by hopping over a wall, somehow blissfully unaware that the River Kelvin was on the other side.

An idiot of gargantuan proportions in other words.

Bit of a nasty tone to this thread considering we don't know for sure which player that it is (not that it matters) and that they may well be in very critical condition.

That is a bit of a cop out from the media. We can assume he got wet at least.

Get the paper-selling headline in first as usual. When was GMS ever a star for Celtic? Bit player at best.

Hope it wasn't a cry for help, and was some kind of silly prank instead. He was in the water a long time, he's a very lucky man.

That's what I mean. Any connection to the OF is over emphasised to get the hook headline. Normal practice, I know, but it irks me.

A young boy from East Kilbride died falling in to the Clyde not that long ago after a night out so I'd say that he's very fortunate.

This.

Really 'hope' this was just an accident or prank gone wrong and nothing more concerning.

A falling star, or is it fallen? It's hard to tell with divers.

I wonder if he'd have done this whilst at Celtc? I know Broony got pashed around a certain "triangle area" of Embra but that was under Deliah. Changed days now. Wonder if Rogers would have seens such antics with his "group" (hate that effing term).

If the answer is "no" tells us everything about the character of the player and his professionalism.

He was out with Stuart Armstrong and seemingly got a kicking in the nightclub after knocking a girl down in the club and left after that, seemingly not the kind of folk you would want to mess with through the West, Armstrong was seemingly attacked as well.

Stuart Armstrong seemingly with GMS at the weekend where both had seemingly got a kicking inside the nightclub, wonder if we will hear from Rogers about it.

They should maybe ask Daly or Levein for their thoughts on the structure of the night out?

Can't win. If it was Derek Riordan arsing it up (and it often was) it would be "Ex Hibs Star" and you and others would be outraged. Or irked.

Fair point. And normally unless I'm particularly irked I tend to look at circumstances before jumping i (pun semi intended).

Seems like there's a whole different context around this although unknown at the outset.
