It's a thread title that made we wince a bit as it normally leads to some Gary Bushell-esque offensive nonsense, but on this occasion - yes, this is indeed political correctness gone mad.

You couldn't make it up.

Etc etc.

It's a bit passé but that does seem a bit of an overreaction.

Absolutely absurd.

I would have thought that the NHS would have been happy to accept any external funding that it could source.

This was clearly done as a light hearted stunt, poking fun at only themselves and harmed no-one.

Whoever has decided to turn down this donation seriously needs to lighten up and get over themselves.

Just another jobsworth with an adopted a holier-than-thou attitude who has wangled themself into a position of power.
Totally up her own derriere. Get a life, Ms Dipstick.

"The presentation of men dressed as female nurses in a highly-sexualised and demeaning way is wrong, very outdated and insulting to the profession."
Have you seen the picture, if that is "highly-sexualised" then I worry for Ms Ditheridge (chief exec of the NHS trust in question).

I thought cross-dressing was a right and those who raise an eyebrow at it are right wing reactionaries? I'm confused:rolleyes:

Has there ever been someone more suitably named for the role that they do than Ms Ditheridge?

I can just imagine her dithering about, wondering whether or not an underfunded NHS department should accept a charity donation from some slightly distastefully dressed but ultimately very well intentioned men.

Nominative determinism.

I'm reminded of when Wolfgang Wolf was manager of Wolfsburg.

I'm more annoyed that a hospital has to accept funding from this kind of source in the first place.

The hospital obviously doesn't have to in this instance - or it would.

(But I know what you mean )

"Land of the free" indeed.
This is where it's all heading. Letting all these touchy idiots destroy freedom of speech, etc.
Absolute bonkers.

Or when Lee Sharpe of Man United wore the top with the sponsor "Sharp" on it.
