Hi all,

Sorry to add another Lenny thread, but I felt that this subject deserves its own focus.

I'm just 27, and I know some are a wee bit longer in the tooth than I, but I genuinely think that Lenny is probably the best manager I've witnessed in an ER dugout.

With all the crap going on with the Huns and knuckle draggers, would it not be a real signal of intent, as well as a strong display of solidarity to get the man on a new contract?

Lennon is taking our club places, and he really deserves our support. C'mon Hibs!

:top marks It would be great timing and a smart piece of business by Hibs.

Better to wait and see if he gets jailed for his criminal activities over the weekend.
There's a petition going around, you know.

I'd agree with that but it will all depend on what Lenny wants.

If he keeps going the way he has then Id expect a Championship club to come calling eventually but again is that what he wants. Was it not said his family are settled here which made a move back here desirable.

We should definitely be offering something though.

I'll split that one with you, since going by emotional damage this has caused the Sevconians, it'll no doubt be a life sentence :/

Indeed sort him out a contract, the knuckle draggers with about 1 braincell between them are also trying to get a contract for Lennon.

Realistically we are the only club he will manage in Scotland over the next few years and his stock wont be too high in England as he struggled abit at Bolton. I would offer him a 2 year extension and say what he says , I suspect he would be fairly happy to get the deal done.

Getting Lenny to sign a 4 year deal would potentially be our best bit of business in an already amazing transfer window. I don't want to get ahead of myself, but i'm hugely optimistic for our club's future with Neil at the helm. He seems to have brought a mentality which seems to be helping our club manifest itself as the big club we know it is.

Make it happen, Leeann/Rod!

He should be put behind bars...... at Easter Road

I'd be raging if he was any other clubs manager. Love him as our own.

Doing an unbelievable job- we've got a squad we could barely have dreamt off before within the space of 3 windows. It wasn't even a shock we won at Ibrox coming up from the Championship- says it all.

New contract HAS to be in the works surely?

It would also be quite poetic if, instead of some lengthy reply to the Club 1872 (ahem 2012) statement, the only thing coming out of ER this week is a brief announcement that NL has agreed a 2-year contract extension.

If he gets the jail this week I'll gladly pay £20 odd quid to sit in his seat on the bench with my ears cupped for 90 minutes!!!

4 year contract with a buy out clause of X amount of pounds ( I'd set this in the millions bracket).

We really have a winner and I trust him to make Hibs a force in Scottish football while we have him. Which means one thing we have to keep backing the team even when we have a bad spell to make sure the board get the funds too finance players he needs/ wants to bring in.

Think I'm trying to say if he see's the ambition from board and fans I think he'll stay for a while and be happy to extend.

Great point! A couple more to consider would be McGeough who I think is in his last yr and was immense on Sat. Simon Murray I believe is on a 2yr deal, it needs to be extended. 10 goals in 7 games, who 'd a thought.

I'd heard that Lennon feels he has a point to prove down south, after the Bolton situation, where he didn't do well but had walked in on a car crash of a club.

It doesn't mean he won't want to sign (who wouldn't!) but interesting info nonetheless

Long contract for Lennon is the best investment we could possibly make right now, IMO.

Neil Lennon publicly said a couple of weeks ago that he wanted to be at Hibs "long term" and that Hibs were "a good fit" for him.

Thing is, he could very realistically take us to 2nd this year (or at least compete with Aberdeen all the way) with the squad he's built. Can we go to parkhead on 30th sept and come away with points? If so, skys the limit for this group. I know I'm dreaming but it really is a great fit for all. I reckon he'll be here for another few years given the backing he's receiving from board to fans.

:agree:

Theres a mutual love/respect with NL and Hibs that he wont get anywhere else in the world bar Celtc and I cant see him going back there any time soon.

Get Lennon signed up on a 4 year deal and let the good times keep coming.

Unlike his track suit:greengrin

He does appear to have "falling in love" with the club.
He did come across emotional during his interview at the final game of last season.

We may see a bit more of this in future
