we had the best of Scott Brown.
we had the best of Scott Brown.
Agreed, strachan2 absolutely wasted him making him into an enforcer type.

We had the most exciting version of Scott Brown, I'm not sure it was the best though.

Just loved Ivan - what a legend.
Surely one of the most unpredictable and exciting players ever to play in a Hibs jersey.

This. Has been and still is an exceptional player in my opinion

Archie doesn't sound like he is enjoying watching that as much as I still am.

Actually, to be fair, he's a lot better handling it than other commentors I've heard. Maybe that's because his laddie is a Hibby.

27th August 2005, I've still got my ticket. Not quite 12 years to the day but not too far off.

Enjoyed the many hun skelpings there over the years. Here's to another one on Saturday.

:agree: But I still think he should have gone all the way, to Man U for instance. Despite his obvious success, going to Celtc stifled his potential IMO.

I was in Benaldamena with my wife, in a Scottish bar with Sky Sports News on, the guy who had the bar next door, a Hun, kept coming through, as he seemed to get the score first, to say Hibs had scored, he was through three times in ten minutes, what a day.
I'm going back to Benaldamena in two weeks time, hope this is an omen. GGTTH.

Wasn't it Garry O' that was subbed and huffily said to Mowbray on the way off (about Sproule) "what's he gonna do that I couldn't?", to which Mowbray later said "that!".

To be fair. He couldn't have played like that forever, he's lost the pace for starters.

For some reason I love listening to Archie commentate, it takes me right back to my youth watching Scotsport. Funny enough I was just watching the Sproule game highlights with Archie on the mic on Hibs TV today.

Don't think it was as cordial as 'what's he gonna do that I couldn't' haha!
Ivan was meant to leave Hibs during that week I'm sure, had a massive falling out with Boozy and wanted to go home. Mowbray asked him to stay for the Rangers game, what a decision that was.
Brown for the second goal absolutely smoking Lovenkrands as well who was no slouch!

It's a shame they pulled one back a few seasons ago or we'd have had 4 3-0s at Ibrox in the last 12 years.

:agree:
We had him when he was full of fire and always busting a gut to get forward, although that could sometimes work against us. His all round game is considerably better now.

Did we ever find out what the celebration for the first goal was about? Could be a 'come to the corner' to other players, could be a 'get it right up you' to O'Connor...

Ivan's play was so strong rode, tackles with ease brushed off shoulder barges and composed his goals. Those are top quality goals.

100% in agreement with you on that score !. Still breaks my heart that he's still with Septic - what a wate of his talent !. I Never thought he'd stay with them, thought it was just for the easy (but fantastic) money and the easy medals - and when he was set financially, move to the EPL where he could concentrate on football and football alone. Such a shame, he would've been a major player down there !

Ivan is one of my favourite Hibs players and it brings a smile just watching that again. Also, I remember his pace but Scott Brown is no slouch in those clips either.
